It's like he's trying to channel Hasek, but unsuccessfully. Kid needs to stay on his feet. Desperation saves are all well and good, but that just looked sloppy.
-
Some great D by Helm and Lilja there. Yowza.
-
Horrendous. Embarrassing. Oh wait, I accidentally time-traveled to the 3rd period of the last game. We actually look okay.
-
At the risk of jinxing things (and honestly, I'm not that influential), our PK looks friggin' great.

Bertuzzi sucks! Steve Moore said so! /Draperfan
-
That's what she said.
-
Clearly hit him in the chest. I'm shocked, they upheld the call on the ice. SHOCKING.
-
Didn't hit his right leg, which is the leg that looked like it had the kicking motion. If they call this back, I'm calling conspiracy again.
-
MILLER! HOLY CRAP! I thought they blew it. Oh wait...goal being reviewed. Great.
-
Latendresse hit with a high stick...oof, that looks like it hurt.
-
Quoted and emphasized for truth. THAT'S the way you do it, not like that piece of garbage Matt Cooke.
-
Kronwall with a monster hit. Let's build off that.
-
Ugh. Late period goal. That sucks.
-
Holmstrom almost has a better shooting percentage than Crosby? What a bum.
-
ZATA! HOLY HELL! Three-goal lead is still scary though.

HOMER! THING OF BEAUTY!!!

At least I'm not the only one seeing it. It's shocking with how much the Penguins are allowed to get away with - both in terms of suspendable infractions AND penalty-worthy infractions on the ice. Meanwhile, they have the most power play opportunities in the league. And I don't buy that, "Well, they're a skilled team, so their style of play earns them more power plays!" excuse. There's something rotten in the state of Pennsylvania.

Of course, you could always argue that if Steve Downie is against Matt Cooke's actions, then Cooke is really a piece of garbage.
-
Great. Guess we should get used to playing the rest of the season without Lidstrom.
-
Is Richards a repeat offender? Cooke is. Derek Boogard recently got suspended for a knee-on-knee hit because he is - all together now - a repeat offender. One could say that Richards got the benefit of the doubt because he's not a repeat offender. Matt Cooke, on the other hand, does this s*** all the time. Remember the suspension he got for his hit to the head of Anisimov? REPEAT. OFFENDER. Cooke should have gotten at least five games, if not more.

"...weighs more than 150 lbs and took more than 12 hours to create." ...and all of 10 minutes for Keith Tkachuk to eat. Yes, I'm still running with the Tkachunky jokes.

Next Thursday in Boston. Makes me wonder if Cooke will be try and injure other teams' stars in the meantime, since, when you pair this with the Donovan knee-on-knee hit, he's obviously gotten Campbell's blessing to do so.
-
Same here. Bettman's chosen franchise gets a pass once again. I'll laugh if Crosby or Malkin get their heads taken off the next time Boston and Pittsburgh play. And of course, whoever is guilty of doing so will obviously be banned from the league forever.
-
That's what I'm anticipating too. What's disturbing is that he's a repeat offender with these intent-to-injure kind of plays, but - with the exception of one paltry 2 or 3 game suspension this season - he gets a free pass. Is it because he plays for the Penguins? Who knows? What IS known is that he deserves to get a very lengthy suspension here...and he'll likely get none because the league will show, once again, that it has no idea what the hell it's doing.
