I still think the Devils will be dangerous in the postseason...but it will be in spite of Brodeur. He's wearing out. Last postseason really showed it. He's living on reputation at this point, kind of like Hasek did - except people threw Hasek under the bus, whereas no one seems willing to do that to Brodeur. -

Babcock really screwed up putting Brodeur in instead of Luongo. Brodeur wasn't good against Switzerland and he's not good tonight either. Pretty bad, actually. -

I think they're trying to tell us about their assumptions of hockey fans' physiques.

I'm actually shocked that this is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. Is this a more "inside" kind of ritual that people outside the sport (such as me, a fan, whose only real-life exposure to playing has been street hockey) just aren't regularly familiar with or am I way out of the loop?

Men's Olympic Hockey used to be like that too, though. Even more so. At the 1924 Winter Olympics, the Canadian hockey team outscored its opponents 122-3 en route to gold.

Take yesterday's USA/Switzerland game as an example, then. In between the 1st and 2nd periods, they did an interview featurette on, you guessed it, Crosby. A player who has absolutely nothing to do with either of the teams playing. Why not, say, Ryan Miller? That might make too much sense, I suppose.

Because a Crosby interview/featurette makes a whole lot of sense during a USA/Switzerland game, of course. NBC is just plain awful. -
Agreed. There's no question that Babcock should stay. I think he's done what he could with the injuries he's been dealt. McCrimmon, on the other hand, has always been awful, injuries or not.
