Brandon Dubinsky calling Sidney Crosby a little baby
edicius replied to Finnish Wing's topic in General
In terms of hockey commercials...I'm shocked that you haven't seen that annoying Crosby-shooting-pucks-into-an-old-dryer commercial that's been played ad nauseum over the last month. NBC plays it like gangbusters during their Penguins Game-of-the-Week (hey, four weeks in a row of Penguins games, what else would you call it? ). -
Looks like this week was a wash.

Apparently it's also news when Crosby winces after blocking a shot. TSN: OH NOES! HE WINCED!!! -
I concur. Love Stevie, but I don't like many of the players on Team Canada.

Lemieux always seemed to be very much a "Waaah! I'm taking my puck and going home!" kind of guy when I watched him. I've told this story enough times, but it bears another telling... There was one game I watched (pre-Crosby, IIRC) where the Pens were getting absolutely destroyed. Score was 7-1 or something like that in the 2nd period. Lemieux takes a face-off...then skates off the ice and leaves down the runway toward the dressing room. Didn't explain to anyone why he left. Broadcasters were confused. Coaches and teammates had no idea why he had left. Broadcasters watched replays of the faceoff, thinking he may have gotten swatted or something, but there was nothing. Then they theorized an equipment problem. But they asked downstairs and nope, no equipment problem either. Lemieux just didn't come back to finish the game. And he was fine next game, no injuries or anything. He just didn't want to play anymore in a blowout and basically threw a silent hissy fit by leaving the game and letting his teammates suffer the embarrassing loss. It's situations like that which leave me no doubt as to why Crosby is the whiner he is today - he was taught by one of the best. -
Del Zotto's going to get suspended for messing up Malkin's blade, just you watch.

Filppula/Datsyuk to play Saturday, Kronwall/Lilja Maybe
edicius replied to Konnan511's topic in General
If Lilja plays, I'll care. Otherwise, there isn't a lot to get excited about these days. -
Wow, Cheechoo on waivers? I apparently haven't been paying enough attention to Ottawa this season. Has he really been that bad? He used to be a star in this league.

According to TSN, it's good news for Getz - he's listed as day-to-day right now.
-
Exactly what I was thinking as well. Now I'm just curious if he's going to Atlanta in the trade or if they have another team lined up for Turco.
-
Franzen should tell them to go @#$% themselves. After the accusations and scapegoating game Team Sweden tried to play... On the other hand, the Olympics would be a nice way for Franzen to get further into game shape.
-
I love it. Ovechkin = ALWAYS entertaining.
-
Yikes. If Getz is out for any decent period of time, the Ducks' playoff hopes could be very quickly dashed. Good news for us, bad news for them.
-
I might be able to like Damon again? Woo hoo! Maybe the Tigers will let him grow his hair long again.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking too. I didn't see anything about the hit itself that would have knocked out Salmela. Bet if he was wearing Shanny's shoulder pads he wouldn't have gotten knocked out.
-
Shoulder to shoulder? Yep. Blindside hit? Yup. Late hit? Debatable. I'm more impressed that Salmela ended up scoring.
-
Those pics are just great. Looks like they were having a hell of a time back then.

Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN
edicius replied to a topic in General
Love that show. And staying on topic, let's hope Franzen can spark the offense...because if he doesn't, we're sunk. -
I can't remember, does that put us back even again?
-
Blech, 11/20 so far. Just waiting on Montreal and Boston. Saturday really killed me going 7/14.
-
I really hope they eclipse the Pens' record from...1991, was it?
-
Geez, and I actually LIKE watching HD hockey. But not with those matchups. Sorry, NBC, I'll play NHL 10 or something while those games are on.
-
You clearly don't remember how unbalanced the officiating was in that series. IIRC, Pittsburgh miraculously had a 2-to-1 edge in PPs over the Capitals.
