I hate to say it, but I think a lot of those "great" saves that Howard has had to make lately have been a result of him having to scramble back in to position after having given up a juicy rebound. He then ends up making it look more spectacular than it really should have been. When he gave up that rebound off his glove before the 2nd goal, I just KNEW that was going to end up in the net soon.

I look at it this way too...as defensemen come back from injury, THAT may help the scoring as well, as we'll have a better breakout from the zone.

I think Lou's just backpedaling, but it's just as likely that he was taken out of context too. I still don't like him.

Matt Cooke is a piece of garbage, so I'm not surprised one bit. He's already been suspended once this season (should have been twice for injuring Shean Donovan). http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=307612

Flyers' Asham accuses Pens' Cooke of biting him during scrum

Ideas...intrigue...newsletter...etc. -
So much for Lou's word being gospel. Glad to see that justice was actually meted out here.

That image captures it spectacularly and negates that whole, "Well, he only dove in his first couple of seasons..." argument. That shot is from the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals - Maltby tapped Crosby on the leg and Sid went down like (and stayed down) like someone shot him.
-
The media would have crucified him. Just like the media gave HIM s*** for missing the ASG, but not Crosby. Crosby was "heroic". (and for some reason, my typing on LGW is screwed up...can't select where I want to actually type my text. Anyone else having that problem?
-
Crosby. Still can't believe the disrespectful little s*** didn't shake our captain's hand and everyone made excuses for him when it happened.

Now I'm depressed again. God damn it.

This news has brought tears of joy to my eyes. So very happy!

Burrows didn't get called for goaltender interference or anything?

Bettman says solving hits to the head will take time
edicius replied to CenterIce's topic in General
No, no, I think he was saying that solving all the problems caused when he was dropped on his head as a child will take time to fix. Head shots in the NHL? Pshaw. Who's worried? -
It fuels my conspiracy-addled head, but I just love the fact that despite all those PP opportunities handed to them, they still have the worst PP in the league.

NHL Officiating - I've pretty much lost faith in any consistent co
edicius replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Eh, I don't know. I watched the replay on that and it didn't look like Bertuzzi actually did anything to trip Green. He just got near him and Green dropped to the ice. I didn't even see a stick near the skates or anything. -
+1 Preach on, harold. Once that third goal was scored, despite the circumstances, I knew it would be business as usual here.
-
That's the vibe I got from this too. Hoping Ozzie just proves Babcock wrong.

Lamoriello's an idiot. It's one thing to support your players (or those in your system), it's another to be completely blind as to what Cormier did and what he deserves in terms of punishment. Given all the dirty hits to the head by Scott Stevens over the years, I'm not terribly surprised by Lou's reaction.

I've never seen it...but hey, the Devils are pretty good this season, so I might luck out.

Jeremy Roenick says "a big fall is ahead for the Red Wings"
edicius replied to Vladifan's topic in General
Gained some respect for JR there. He can obviously see that something's awry in the league's treatment of the Wings. -
Holy crap, I think this means I've caught up to you! Ooooh, this is getting interesting, bro.

A-friggin'-men. Eaves got in a GREAT uppercut that stunned Versteeg shortly before the takedown. Eaves made a great showing and I'd call it a draw with a slight edge to Eaves. And the cut that Eaves had below his eye? Pierre made it sound a lot worse than it was. Blood wasn't streaming down his face or anything.
