Hope Vokoun's okay. Ballard needs to be suspended for a long, long time. Intentional or not, that was just beyond stupid.
-
And our PK and defense will still both suffer as long as McCrimmon's behind the bench.
-
About time he got suspended for something. Ask Shean Donovan if he thinks two measly games is enough, though.
-
Simple - he'd have to be on a different team.
-
But the real question is whether or not he whined to the refs about all the hats screwing with the flow of the game. I bet not.
-
I'll just be happy with a goal tonight. I'm honestly scared to watch. But I'll probably still do it anyway, glutton for punishment that I am.
-
The whole team is garbage right now. And having McCrimmon behind the bench isn't helping either.
-
And apparently, this is the same referee that allowed a goal after a Coyotes player pushed Osgood into the goal. So, just so we have it straight... Phantom "incidental contact" = NO GOAL! Goaltender plowed into the net = GOAL!!!

What are the chances Babcock were to get fired?

Seconded. -
If I didn't know better, I would have thought that was a WWE bit the way it happened.

Friday: New Jersey @ Boston Buffalo @ Philadelphia Pittsburgh @ NY Islanders Colorado @ Minnesota Chicago @ Anaheim Atlanta @ Carolina Calgary @ Detroit NY Rangers @ Tampa Bay Toronto @ Florida St Louis @ Nashville Dallas @ Phoenix San Jose @ Edmonton Saturday: NY Islanders @ New Jersey Ottawa @ Boston Carolina @ Buffalo Washington @ Montreal Philadelphia @ Atlanta Calgary @ Columbus NY Rangers @ Pittsburgh Detroit @ St Louis Florida @ Nashville Tampa Bay @ Dallas Minnesota @ Colorado Edmonton @ Vancouver Chicago @ Los Angeles Sunday: Phoenix @ Anaheim San Jose @ Vancouver EDIT: Somehow missed my selection for the Chicago/Los Angeles game on Saturday. Note the time of my edit; I think the NJ/Boston game has yet to have the puck drop, so I should be cool. Thanks to Dan Bylsma for letting me know about my omission.

Considering how badly San Jose got beat overall, I wouldn't read too much into Hossa's debut performance with the Hawks, considering they had six different goal scorers tonight (Hossa, admittedly, being the only two-goal scorer). San Jose just had an awful, awful game. Put Hossa up against a team that's not having an off night and we'll probably be able to gauge where he's at more accurately.
-
And just like that, San Jose breaks the shutout. Twice.
-
7-0 Hawks. Yeesh. Sharks are having a bad one.
-
That "God #87" jersey is just disturbing. Especially since the hat is all non-creased and gangsta-like.
-
Wow, just when I thought I had seen it all on this board. What a bunch of fickle fans we are.
-
I actually initially was shown a piece of this as an ESPN Insider article and it warmed my heart. What I'm actually curious about is what kind of penalties is Crosby taking. Are they defensive mistakes leading to must-take penalties? Hot-headed retaliation slashes?
-
If Neely can be elected, I think Lindros should be more than eligible. Dude was a hell of a force in his time in the league.

Oh, for @#$%'s sake... Does Kronwall's skates leave the ice before a hit? Sometimes. But it's become more and more infrequent as time goes by. And if you watch replays of his hits, more often than not, the illusion of flight that we see is post-hit, not pre-hit. Havlat had his head down. The hit may - may - have been a little high, but in my opinion, it was a clean, legal check. Unlike dirty, cheapshotting, intent-to-injure kind of knee-on-knee plays like those carried out by Laraque and Cooke.
-
And Cooke is still laughing.
-
I figured that was ultimately what they meant as well. But that poor choice of words just shows once again how poorly Versus actually covers hockey. And just once - once! - could we actually get a replay on a questionable Wings penalty? That's infuriating as hell when that happens.
-
Yeah, the hat tossed for Erat's 2 goals thing just reinforces that unfortunate image of the uneducated Nashville hockey fan. "Whuh? You mean all three of dem goals gotta be scored by one guy? Well, shucks!"
-
They also said that the Boston Bruins are the defending Eastern Conference Champions. Didn't realize we played them in the Cup Finals last season.
