    Which would you rather see?

Win in Game 6. No question. The satisfaction of seeing Hossa skate around with the Cup at the Igloo would make me smile.
  2. This just made me literally lol. There's something funny about pie.

Pittsburgh's Immaturity After Game 4 Cost Them

As immature as this Pens team is, I still have to give full marks to Bylsma for his maturity and class. Heard the post-game presser from him last night and again, very frank, no excuses, gave credit where credit was due. A complete 180 from Therrien and something this immature Pens team NEEDS if they ever want to truly succeed. It's just a shame for them (and a boon for us) that Bylsma just doesn't seem to be rubbing off on the likes of Malkin and Crosby. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they preferred Therrien to him simply due to his like-minded demeanor. Of course, Bylsma learned from one of the best, Mike Babcock himself.

Anyone else have to work DURING the games?

Well, I had to work a video shoot during Game 7 against Anaheim, but thankfully, I had a fantastic person ( ) texting me game updates. Was able to catch the 3rd period on XM on the way home. If we go to 7 this time, I'll likely have to call on her for score updates again as I have a full day of shoots that day.

    Crosby Dive

No Kariya? Hell, that man actually injured himself diving. I happen to remember him taking a world class one and injuring his wrist in the process.

    Crosby Dive

That's my first time seeing the dive and that's way more epic than Ozzie's dive when he got speared by Talbot. Crosby actually acted like someone threw a cinder block at his back. Just when I was beginning to think he'd outgrown that s***. Hats? Whiner. Poke? Diver. You were SO close, Sid.

    Crosby Dive

I'll be the first to admit that Ozzie embellished the hell out of that and was lucky he didn't get called for diving. That said, it wasn't a "bump" by Talbot - that was a spear, plain and simple.

    Crosby Dive

That's the one I remember. That delay was just ridiculous and any respectable ref would have called a dive on that. Did the high stick happen? Yep. Did Kunitz embellish the hell out of it? You betcha.

    Series

Just want to chime in and thank you for being respectful. Genuinely. I know I'm still pissed as hell over last night's game and my tolerance for trolls is nil at the moment. Thankfully, you're not one of 'em. Welcome.

What if Pittsburgh scored with 6 men?

Didn't something like this happen in the playoffs last year though? I want to say I remember the Penguins scoring on us with a sixth skater on the ice and the goal stood, though I may be mis-remembering (wrong team, regular season instead of playoffs, etc.).

What if Pittsburgh scored with 6 men?

This is how I could argue that it could have swayed the series... We were up 2-1 when the infraction occurred. Had we gone on the resulting power play and scored, it would have put us up 3-1. Not an insurmountable lead, but powerful nonetheless, especially in a game that could produce a 3-0 series lead. Instead, Detroit got the next penalty and then the Penguins went on to score 3 unanswered goals to win the game, getting solidly back into the series.

    TSN bashing the officiating

I ******* KNEW it. I KNEW I saw that on the broadcast. This league continues to make it harder and harder to NOT think there's some conspiracy going on.

    Cooke kicked Osgood?

Wysh (Puck Daddy) mentioned it on Twitter last night and then again on Puck Daddy today. You'd think that would be reviewed by the league. You'd think.

Mark Messier Leadership Award finalists named

I'll take Joe Sakic, despite the fact that he barely played this season. He's still more of a leader than Crosby, even when injured.

    Punch a Hossa?

We just have to accept that they're utterly divorced from reality.

Hossa to be re-signed after postseason

Perhaps it's another head game deal. Make the Pittsburgh fans think that Hossa has betrayed them even more so they boo him more at tonight's game, which pumps up Hossa into having a hat trick, making Bettman's baby boy cry at the refs about hats.

    Officiating Will be Tighter

Huh. Maybe Malkin will actually get suspended this time. And Sid will get called for elbowing, cross-checking, etc. And maybe Burger King will come out with a zero-calorie Whopper.

A question about the "flow" of a game

As a visiting Penguins fan (one of the good ones) said here in another thread, we see missed calls on the Pens, they see missed calls on the Wings. And when taking it out of the eyes of bias, it's probably pretty damn even. I know that in Game 1, in particular, I kept seeing missed calls right and left on the Pens (Hossa interfered with multiple times, Zata elbowed and cross-checked by Crosby, etc.). But that's what we as Wings fans look for. If one of our guys gets away with interference, we're not as likely to pick it up. It's a blind spot of sorts. That's not to say that we don't see it sometimes, but I think it had to be more obvious - last game I know I made mention that Kronwall was very lucky not to pick up a cross-checking penalty in the corner on the PK, as the cameras picked up repeated cross-checks very clearly. When it comes down to it, despite all the missed calls I've seen on the Pens, I think the officials have actually called the games pretty evenly and as such have maintained a good flow to the game. It's not the refs' fault that the Pens can't manage with the Wings legally clogging up the passing lanes.

Hossa ready to return to the Igloo

I honestly think that's the first time I've ever seen a thread Godwinned in GD. Thankfully it was an opposition fan that did it.
