If there's one thing I've learned from this whole thing - and, I would think the whole league has learned - it's that the best way to get Sidney Crosby off his game is to pester him. Simple as that. It bothers him enough to let his emotions take over and not in that positive, passionate way but in more of a negative, distracted way. If Sid doesn't get it under control with age, it's not only going to affect his reputation among the league as a whiner but his playing ability as well. If Pens fans are to be believed, the effect on his playing ability can already be seen with him playing second fiddle to Malkin.

Technically, though, it didn't. New York won 10 of their first 13 games this season, two of them overseas as I recall. It was only after those first 13 games that they became a .500 team, something like 21-21-6. So they can't really blame it on Europe when they came out like gangbusters following the trip.

Renney's out of a job, but Glen Sather's still around. No justice in NY.

Exactly what I was thinking when I questioned "only" two games.

Eww, eww, ewwwww! Five? FIVE? FIVE?!?! Wow, I suck.

Same here. I can only imagine the crazy s*** he'd do with the Cup. Any YouTube-age of the hissy fit that Crosby threw on Ovie near the end of the 2nd period? From the description I read on TSN, it sounds like Crosby just completely lost his composure...again. And people wonder why he's called a crybaby.

Not surprised. Howard's been inconsistent with the Griffins (from what I've been able to tell) and his rebound control is akin to having trampolines on the front of his pads. I've never been confident with Howard in net. Joey Mac always impressed me more, honestly, but that's not saying much.
-
Odd that he only got two games for the 2nd suspension.

Wasted PP opportunities. Ugh.

I've noticed that every time he's played a game for the Wings. I've never been able to watch him in Grand Rapids, but any time he's donned the Winged Wheel, his rebound control is totally non-existent.

It's that kind of night. Look at the final for the Isles/Devils game.

Sievin' it up, J-Ho stylee. EDIT: Admittedly, I'm just watching the real-time scoreboard.

Howard is not the answer, no matter the question.

Agreed, on all counts. Crosby's especially. Ovechkin's "falling down" goal was more impressive because the puck was clearly on his stick and held there throughout the attempt. Same goes for Flip's flying goal last year. Crosby just crashed the net (dove? ) and it came in off his body. The goals by Gretz, Savard, Ovie, etc...much more impressive. I don't even particularly like Wayne, but that was a hell of a feat of hand-eye coordination there.

Columbus honestly scares me with Mason between the pipes. Not saying they're going to win the Cup or something like that, but they could easily pull off a first round upset.

I concur. Ozzie needs this. He probably knows it better than any of us. It's about damn time this is happening.

Changed shape. I got more done to that yin-yang one in...'07, I think? You still put me to shame with your non-gooberific runs, though. So far, so good. Though I still need to get rid of this little pocket of belly fat I have...I KNOW I have abs under there, dammit!

This makes me wonder if Crosby will still be called "Sid the Kid" in 20 years.
-
Seriously, that's just some...random stuff. I rather like the, "Ohhh, good for you!". Very timely and topical.
-
Oh, I caught it. The guy has given me a reason to listen to Panthers games.

Very true. Sammy's done it before, Leino hasn't. Didn't really think too much about that. Since you put it that way, I doubt Kenny's going to do much of anything around the deadline.

This is a rumor I can get behind, simply because it makes sense for the team, both financially and on the ice. But since it's an Eklund rumor, there's pretty much 99% chance of it not happening.
