Well, since I think I've pretty much hit my goals - massive weight loss, 'normal' BMI, etc. - and am pretty much at a point where I just maintain my weight now, it's time for the before and after pictures. First picture is from my wedding reception, May 2006. I weighed anywhere between 230 - 245 lbs here, wearing a size 38 or 40 in pants and XL shirts: And this picture was taken this morning before work (in my still-mostly-unpacked office) at a weight of 159 lbs, size 32 jeans, medium shirt: Word, yo.

I can't believe I'm defending Sid here, but... It's not his fault. Blame Shero for throwing money at two players like he's Glen Sather, pre-salary cap, without any consideration for supporting cast. Blame Shero for mortgaging the team's future with the whole Hossa trade. Blame Shero for taking so long to recognize one of the locker room cancers in Michel Therrien. I think all NHL players are overpaid, honestly - you're playing a game, for @#$%'s sake - but Sid's the poster boy of the league. His salary's not the issue. It's Shero's handling of the team dynamic on the Pens.

This weekend was just brutal. But at least the Pens lost to the Laffs. If they lose to the Isles tonight, it'll be beyond hilarious.

And Olczyk, as I maintained during his entire (short) tenure there, couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

Too little, too late. There might be an initial bump of wins, but I honestly don't see the Pens going 16-9 (which they would have to to get to 91 points, which wasn't even good enough for the postseason in the EC last year) down the stretch, new coach or not. Everyone in the East has at least a game in hand on them and they're five points out of a playoff spot right now - take into account games in hand and they're potentially as much as 7-9 points out of contention.

I have to concur with that. He just has this perpetually pouty face, particularly when he's on the bench, as though he's always on the verge of tears. The captain (and the face of the league) at the very least should try and look more, I don't know, heroic? Confident? It's nitpicky, I know, but it's what I've seen.

Blech, tanked yesterday, 3/7. As of right now, I'm 4/9 for Saturday. There's no way Dallas is coming back against the Hawks (down 5-0 in the 3rd), so I can write off that game. Just hoping Phoenix beats the Flames and that the Bruins can win in the SO against the Preds ah feck, Preds won. Best I can hope for at this point is going 5/9. But at least the Leafs (!) hammered the Pens tonight 6-2. Leafs are only 7 points behind the Pens with a game in hand. Meanwhile, the Pens are 5 points out of a playoff spot and every team in the East has at least one game in hand on them. Nice stat here from TSN too: I love it.

And if you really look at things, he's been damn productive lately. 16 points in the last 15 games is nothing to sneeze at.

What can I say? I'm a true Lilja fan. And yeah, that shredder's crazy...actually has a sensor on the silver part that senses if someone is touching it (guess it senses body heat?) and if so, it stops shredding. Probably the nicest thing I have in my office. Everyone's been telling me that lately! I even actually got carded last night when I got a beer at Friday's...I haven't been carded in, what, at least 5 or 6 years? I'm turning 30 this year, for @#$%'s sake!

It's Wear Your Jersey To Work Day, so I...well, wore my Lilja jersey to work.

What did it entail? Just highlights of the game? Guess they must be running out of stuff to talk about with football over and baseball not into Spring Training yet.
