Huh. Conks isn't wearing his new pads. Although, I figured he wouldn't...too new, no time to break them in.- 1,043 replies

dekeyuk, have you done a hard-reboot of the cable box? I know I have to sometimes do that with mine from Cablevision (Scientific Atlanta 8300HD) if it starts acting wonky. EDIT: Oops, nevermind. Glad it's working again.- 1,043 replies

I'd prefer Doc over Olczyk, that's for sure. Eddie O sounds like an idiot no matter what game he's calling. As for other play by play guys? Jim Hughson immediately comes to mind (love the way he says "RO-BERT-O LU-ON-GO!" ). The guys that do the Sharks play by play are pretty decent too. And, I know I'm in the minority on this, I've always had a soft spot for Darren Pang (probably because he's good friends with Stevie Y).
-
Eh, Olczyk always talks nonsense. Plus the man couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag in Pittsburgh. Although he did whine quite a bit less than Therrien.
-
Wasn't LaBarbera LA's "goaltender of the future" at one point? I'll admit, I don't follow the Kings all that much, but what happened with him to be on the outs with the Kings?
-
I'll admit, I'm bummed. Conks has gotten to do this a couple times before. But Ozzie's injured and we all know how unpredictable groin injuries are. It sucks...but it is what it is. Besides, Ozzie's still got something Conks doesn't - three Stanley Cup rings. At least we should get to see Conks playing with those sweet new pads. And regardless, it's going to be a great game to watch, no matter who's in goal.
-
Exactly. I won't shed any tears if Pronger or NeedavacationTM get all torn up during the ASG.
-
Which means I would have sucked, minus one.
-
You've gotta admit, his definition made things a bit more bizarre here. You look almost frightened in that pic, hl.
-
Dude, you just made me very happy. I was out at a casino with the family in Sarnia, playing the slots and watching Canada wipe the floor with the Czechs and realized, "Oh crap, I didn't make my picks this weekend!". I was worried I was going to fall even further behind that crafty, craft FRW.
-
Nah, I only drive with it on, since tickets in Jersey for talking on a cell without a hands-free device while driving are steeeeeeeeeeep. And I always seem to get calls on my cell the moment I set foot in that damn car. I tend to think that people who wear those all the time - and inevitably sound like they're talking to themselves, confusing the hell out of people like us - are douches.

Yeah, after seeing that vid (which, admittedly, is the first time I've seen it as opposed to hearing it), it wasn't the "OMG OMG HE TRIED TO KILL HIM!!!11" that the Sens pbp made it out to be. Two handed chop? Yep. Vicious? Not really. Nice embellishment by Crosby on the non-high hit though. Looked like he practically gave himself whiplash.
-
Drivin'. It's cold out here. Still moving stuff from the apartment too. Ice isn't fun.
-
That actually just reminded me of something, a question to which I'm not sure if I got an answer. The Pens played the Sens a little while back and I was listening to the Sens' radio feed. At one point during the game, the Sens play-by-play said that Crosby gave a "vicious, two-handed slash" to the ankle of a Sens player, then alluded to the possibility of intent to injure. At that point, I figured it was because it was the Sens' radio feed, they were being homers, etc. Now I'm starting to wonder if there's a pattern emerging. Not necessarily Sid becoming a hitman out there, deliberately trying to injure opposing players, but instead, Sid really coming unglued on the ice, perhaps dangerously so. There's a difference between letting your emotion get the better of you on the ice and just losing control. If it happens once, it's the former. But if it begins to happen repeatedly? The latter.

13-for-20 so far. If Montreal can win their game (going into OT right now), it'll give me 14/21, including a perfect 4/4 for tonight. GO HABS! EDIT: Ah, sonuva... Canes win. 3/4 tonight, 13/21 overall. Could be worse, I suppose.Oh wait, it is...FRW went 16/21, 4/4 tonight. Back to 13 behind him. Grrrrr...

Yowch, bad luck. Seeing him carried off and the bloody leg, looks painful. Quick (but not TOO quick ) recovery, Teemu.
