I stopped reading after this sentence. Lilja has been one of the best defensemen on the roster this season. Did he have a gaffe last night? Sure. But over the course of the season, he's been fantastic, especially considering his line positioning and his pay grade. I'm seriously beginning to think that all these Lilja bashers haven't really watched a game this season.

Really well. Hossa is a machine. Ozzie had his best game of the season; the one goal he gave up was a beautiful deflection/screen by Parise, no way Ozzie could get that. Our D still wasn't as good as it could be and our PP didn't have much of an effect (0-for-5), but the offense made up for it. And no, that 3rd goal wasn't an empty netter either. Regarding the Devils injuries, Gionta said he had the wind knocked out of him, but still didn't return in the game. Salvador said it was just a stinger on his ankle, but HE didn't return to the game either. Doc makes a Monty Python and the Holy Grail "flesh wound" joke on MSG.

Wow, Isles got totally screwed. Sabourin was completely in the net and across the line, with the exception of his left skate. The puck was in his pads. His pads were in the net. And yet, no goal. Lame.

To be more precise, we're averaging 3.5 goals per game...which frankly isn't too bad at all if you really crunch the numbers. We're #2 in the league, second only to Philly's 3.67 goals per game. It's our goals against per game that concerns me more - 3.25. That's only good enough for 22nd in the league (for comparison, Philly's in 27th with a number matching their GFA, 3.67).
