Sorry, I just had to be the first smart-arse. I totally agree with you, though. We've seen flashes of brilliance on the ice for our boys, but overall, they just haven't looked great - at least for Red Wings hockey. And they're still 7-1-1. I can only imagine what they'll look like when they're rounding into midseason form and are actually playing sound defensive hockey. The rest of the league will still be gunning for us, but hopefully by then, we'll have some CONVINCING wins and not as much of this one-goal stuff.

Depending on how I feel tonight, I might have to miss this one. I started coming down with something last night and may really need the rest (with a game ending after midnight and me having to be at work by 7am, it's not a good combination). I'll see what happens. In the meantime, predictions... Hossa will score again. Lilja will kill the hell out of some bogus penalties. Cleary will have his best game of the season.

I still like their Slurpees.

Not that I'm putting any stock into what Eklund says...but it would HAVE to be Lebda if the Wings are moving a defenseman. Lilja may have been "touchable" before the season started (even as a sign-and-trade), but the way he's played thus far...no way. If we're moving a defenseman, it's Lebda. No question. But that's assuming that Eklund is right, which is doubtful.

Ken Klee is on his third team this season alone. Was with the Thrashers during the preseason, traded to the Ducks as part of the Schneider dump and now has been claimed on re-entry waivers by the Coyotes.

This. For replays, they're fine because there is the potential for greater concentration on a given play. But for an entire game it just feels disjointed and, like someone else mentioned, a video game trailer.

Ugh, those angles are horrible. Following the play is less jarring from a wider shot. The closer you get in, the faster the camera movements appear to be, leading to an almost Cloverfield-style shaky-cam.

That's my one real complaint about it. Especially considering the Premier is $149.99...for a screen print. I have an old black Wings Center Ice practice jersey, screenprinted logo and got it for $20 without any complaints. But $149.99 for a screenprinted logo? Ain't right. I paid less for my Ovechkin Premier and that's not screenprinted.

Yeah, I'm...not happy with McCrimmon. I mean, it's entirely possible that his arrival and the timing of our D going south is coincidental. But it's equally plausible that he doesn't know how to manage our defensive corps properly. Honestly, the best D man (in terms of consistency) out there this season has been Lilja. Lidstrom has looked, sad to say, downright awful at times. Same with Kronwall. Ledba is mostly useless, except for his speed, which he doesn't use to its advantage. Rafalski has been so-so; not horrible, but not spectacular. I'd hope that McCrimmon is seeing what we're seeing and is taking steps to change it.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's going to cost an arm and a leg, I'd love to get that Winter Classic jersey. Although, I'd love it a little more if the 'D' was something stitched on. All looks screenprinted on there.
