And my wife just told me that apparently, somehow, they can actually still counter our counter (we countered after it went into foreclosure) and it's not the bank that's countering, but the owner still. Again, I have no idea, the wife has more contact with our realtor (old family friend). Lilja probably knows more about real estate than I do.

Hmm, intriguing, I'll have to check with our realtor to see what's going on with that then. They actually countered, so we countered back with something about $5,000 less. However, the house is now in foreclosure (happened sometime in between their counter and our counter), which changed the buying situation. We're still crossing our fingers though. Go Lilja! Clear that crease!
