Yep, figured they'd end up over the cap again. Who's gonna bail Burkie out this time?
-
That was fantastic and I can't believe that I'd never seen that one before!

$1.14M left over for Teemu (assuming Ryan's cap hit). Seems a little cheap to me.

I think I just had my first "Holy s***, this fits!" moment since I started working out/dieting. Maybe a couple years ago, I had bought a couple of corduroy pants, size 38. When I tried them on, they fit. Maybe a little snug in some areas, but ultimately, they fit. Within a couple months, that snugness became tightness and they became uncomfortable to wear. Oddly enough, all my jeans were the same size, but I didn't seem to experience as much problem with those. Well, all my jeans right now are still size 38 and they've been becoming more and more loose in the waist. So I figured, why not try on the cords? And they were loose. Like, REALLY loose. To the point of baggy. Definitely needed a belt if I was planning on doing any extended walking in them. So...woo hoo! New pants!

Oh, now you've done it... I won't forget this.

XM's airing the preseason? Rock! Since adding XM 204 to the XM Online lineup over the summer, it makes me wonder if they're actually going to let whatever games are on in the evening air over XMO or if they're gonna be blocked.

Plus, for anyone that bought NHL 2K9, there's a code that'll give you a free two-month trial of GameCenter Live. I haven't activated it yet, so I can't attest to whether or not they ask for a credit card from you anyway.

My first reaction was, "Holy s***, they finally did it!" My second reaction was, "Okay...uh...now what are they supposed to chant at Lions games?"
-
Yeah, my first instinct was to say Kozlov, Hossa and Williams...and then my reading comprehension kicked in. So then I settled on Kozlov, Krupp and Bowness. Congrats Barrie, you better enjoy that game!

Plus I'm willing to bet that such an exclusive neighborhood would have pretty good security.

Got three myself. Provided Matt likes my answers.

...and then that puts Pittsburgh approx. $1.8M over the cap.

Shanny was right to leave Detroit when he did. As he said, he's a part of Detroit's past, not its future. I was really hoping he'd sign for one more year with the Rangers, would give me a chance to see him a few more times at MSG.

Not really too cap friendly for them.
-
Well, not the 1024x768 one. Mind you, it's a smaller non-widescreen resolution, but it's the max my laptop will support.

As NFM25 pointed out to me earlier, NHLSCap.com is calculating with the assumption that Bobby Ryan will be on the roster. If you remove Ryan's cap hit, they're at $1.3M over.

Now, I'm curious...Schneider is waived...so does that mean Anaheim (as of right now) is or isn't on the hook for his salary, since he wasn't claimed? I mean, I would assume that since Schneider hasn't been claimed (and that Burke is trying to reassess his trade options, which have probably gotten slimmer), the Ducks are still responsible for his salary, cap hit and all, and that he's still essentially on the team roster. Burke's deadline for getting his team under the cap is approaching quickly (about two and a half weeks until the regular season begins) and I'd just LOVE to see the league have to take over the operations of the team to get them under the cap. You can be absolutely certain that would mean no accounting of any room for Selanne (unless the league really IS in Burke's pocket ).

Times are probably a bit rough for Quenneville. If he has a genuine problem, here's to hoping he seeks help for it. If it was just a stupid decision this time around, here's hoping he has the sense to not do it again.

As the Pens face adversity and Crosby reacts, stocks soar for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation (owner of Kleenex)!

I think this just goes to show that accidents DO happen with these hits from behind. We see it happen a lot and sometimes, it's not deliberate, it just...happens. If anyone thinks that Downey was deliberately trying to injure one of his own teammates, they're crazy.
-
I'm almost positive they are. Could have sworn they had them listed on Ticketmaster when I was looking up a game in December.
-
I'm officially rooting for Pahlsson or Beauchemin to get traded. You know I'm the president of the Burkie fan club, right?
-
Compare him to Sakic like I did. Both have similar production and Sakic is only a year older than Selanne...and he's making $6M this season. I'd think a reasonable discount for Selanne would be in the $3-4M range. But I suppose we can armchair GM this to death all day.

Now if I could do the same with my gut, I'd be golden!

Yeah, I actually HAVE a jawline now! You know better than to ask a question like that on here... ...so, yes.
