Seems to me that Bettman just didn't want to sell to Balsille so badly that he just sold it to the first person that came along that said he wouldn't move the team. I mean, seriously, some background checks would have easily shown that this guy was shady. Another stellar move by the league offices. Wonder if this could be another death knell for Nashville.

This one's especially funny because I read several articles about how well-behaved people in Detroit, Royal Oak, etc. were with their improptu celebrations. They must have confused us with Montreal.

Ozzie's HOF material, hands down. Think of all the "elite" goalies in the league right now. Hasek's likely going to retire again. Brodeur's on his way down (but guaranteed a spot in the HOF). Kiprusoff, Nabokov and Giguere are inconsistent. Goaltenders like Fleury, Lundqvist, Bryzgalov and Vokoun are, as yet, really unproven. Ozzie's reached the ranks of the elite at this stage of his career. Nobody's going to take that away from him.

This is the second major gaffe he's made in a championship game like that. Remember the time he tried to clear the puck in an international game (World Championships?) and it bounced right back to him and into the net? Hoping he has a strong resolve, because two such gaffes could really bounce around in a goaltender's skull.

Of course, we're going to hear about Crosby playing through injuries for months now. Begrudgingly, though, I have to give him credit. To play like that through groin and rib injuries - and play as well as he did, ultimately - is impressive. Not as impressive as Yzerman's one-good-leg, but Sid's got potential there.
