He's basically saying that just because something happens twice doesn't make it a pattern. If coming down from 0-3 happened THREE times 33 years apart, then I'd say there was something to it. But right now, it just happened twice and it took 33 years between occurrences.

Wow, Turco even knocks the net off when the puck's at the other end.
-
At least we killed off that one.
-
And now Homer gets a penalty. Great timing, Homer.
-
What's really weird is that it looked like he was expecting glove side...and it went stick side.
-
What happened to our killer instinct? Whoa, nice save there by Ozzie.
-
GOD DAMN IT.
-
Yeah, I was wondering that too.

PP upcoming.

Ah, I can't complain as much then. Seems like tripping's being let go a lot, tho.

Should I be watching this? Just got back from dropping off my desktop for repair (ugh), was listening to the game in the car on the way back...and Dallas scored. Got home, came into the house and see that it's a 1-1 tie. So, uh, should I be watching this? And the officiating looks horrible. Who's in the stripes?

On XM, he always goes to his ol' standby phrase to describe the officiating and the NHL as a whole: "It's a game of mistakes." I've never quite understood why he continues to say that. I understand what he's TRYING to say (scoring opportunities result from defensive mistakes, etc.) but when he keeps using that as an excuse for the refs, he's making his officials sound incompetent.

He mentions a Crosby line and a Malkin line for Pittsburgh. I remember reading somewhere that Malkin's stick had gone rather cold this round, turning Pittsburgh into, essentially, a one-line team. Am I correct on that or mis-remembering what I read?
-
Was that the one I heard about that went through the side of the net?

A glimpse into the 2008-09 season... "Detroit, #96, two minutes for screening the goaltender..."

It was hilarious on XM yesterday when people kept asking Bettman about that. Bettman: "We do reviews to see if the puck was hit with a high stick, if it was kicked in, if the net was off its moorings or to see if the puck crossed the line. Goaltender interference is a judgment call and we can't do reviews on judgment calls." Next caller: "Isn't checking to see if a puck was hit with a high stick or kicked in also a judgment call?" Of course, Bettman dodged the hell out of that question.

A bunch of people kept asking Bettman about it on XM yesterday and Bettman, hockey-dullard that he is, kept insisting that it was the correct call. "Well, it looked like he kept Marty's stick from moving."

I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted. See you all here on Saturday when we can get a proper win (and hopefully some proper officiating).

I guess when it comes down to it, we just didn't look good tonight. Ozzie and Zata were still fantastic as always. Rafalski didn't impress me. Sammy...well, I promised I wouldn't bash him. But he was ******* awful tonight. (Sorry! )

Ken Kal said that Babcock asked O'Halloran about the called-back goal. Claimed that Homer's ass was in the paint. Meanwhile, O'Halloran's ass is currently plugged by his head.

Wow. Just...wow. Sutherland and O'Halloran deserve to be booted for the rest of the postseason. And fined for such idiocy.

Wow, so it's perfectly legal for Ott to kneel on top of Holmstrom. I didn't know that.
