I think the bit of bias that stood out to me most in these first two games of the series was all the excuse-making for Dallas. It seemed like every third sentence out of one of the PbP guys' mouths was "Well, Dallas is so tired because of that 4OT game" and not giving the Wings credit for flat-out outplaying the Stars. It's never about what the Wings are doing right, it's all about making excuses for Dallas. That just annoys me. Even this last game, Versus was still using that as an excuse for Dallas whenever they made a bad play - "Oh, they're still tired and didn't have enough time off..." Just sayin'.

I'd love to hear Bettman's take on this on NHL Hour on XM this Thursday. There's no way he'll be able to talk his way out of this one.

Turco's one to talk about all of this. He punched Homer in the back of the head no fewer than 3 times this game. Suspend Ribeiro for a game and be done with it. Personally, I'd like to see it be four (the precedent was set last postseason), but I'm realistic.

Hell yeah. Osgood's rebound control has become phenomenal. He's doing what we usually see when we're aiming at the other goalie's crest - just sucking the puck into his chest. The ones that he IS giving up rebounds on are ones you'd expect, like kick saves and the like. His glove and chest protector are just absorbing shots though.

Jamie McLennan, backup goaltender for the Flames last year. In the playoffs last season, he came in for Kipper and after about 40 seconds of being on the ice, took a two-hander to Holmstrom's Franzen's midsection, completely unprovoked. He was suspended for 4 games (I think it was 4?), but he was basically a sacrificial lamb from the Flames, using a non-vital player to try and injure one of our vital guys. EDIT: Dammit, I don't know why I keep saying Homer, I know it's Franzen.

Franzen was okay after Noodles swung at him and Noodles still got 4. This shot seemed to be aimed at a more vulnerable spot on the player (Ozzie's throat), so who knows? EDIT: I suck and blame the beer. Franzen, Franzen, Franzen. Not Homer.

If Noodles got 4, Ribeiro should get 4.

He broke his stick on Osgood. That's more than "a tap".

SEE. Versus just said it again. "The league will clearly see that Osgood started it." So, by that logic, Todd Bertuzzi never should have been suspended for his hit on Steve Moore. Because, you know, Steve Moore started it.

And Versus just says it was a "love tap" from Ribeiro. Meanwhile, Osgood "deliberately" stuck the butt-end of his stick out to hit Ribeiro. Stay classy, Versus.
