I demand another win.
-
I'm such an ass...
-
Those bastards ruined me! I tried to be good, I really did!

When I think of Adam Foote, I think of the time he high-sticked Yzerman in the face after a faceoff with less than 2 seconds left in the 3rd period of a tie game.
-
It's a shame for the other players on Pittsburgh too, because they're just going to be relegated to the background for the rest of the season (again). Malkin especially (who is the sole reason that the Pens are currently in the position that they're in).
-
Er, didn't that happen to us last year in the playoffs? Anaheim (?) scored with 7 players on the ice.
-
3 SOG, even plus/minus, no points and 19:57 of ice time for Forsberg. Not too bad a start. At least he didn't get injured.
-
And in the Pens/Lightning game recap on TSN...yeesh... "Crosby Crosby Crosby. Sid the Kid! Crosby! Crosby Crosby, Crosby." http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=231244&hubname=nhl Meanwhile, he got one assist and that didn't even come until about 2 minutes left in the game. But according to the article, it was "Crosby's night"! I hate the Canadian hockey press.

I'm trying to be nice in this thread, damn it.

I'd like to see more of what Meech can do. Lebda reminds me way too much of Dandenault - great wheels, but not much else. Not necessarily giving up on him yet, but I'd like to see some options.

Eh, everything I've read has stated that ice hockey's origins come from Europe and that immigrants to Canada brought the game with them. Perhaps the modern incarnation of the game belongs to Canada, but its origins are wholly European in nature. EDIT: In fact, I remember reading in one of Brian McFarlane's books that the British Royal Family was known to play a game extremely similar to ice hockey in the early 1800s.
-
IMO, if they were to award the Hart to someone on the Penguins, Malkin would be more deserving. He's carried that team in Sid's absence.
-
It wasn't. Its origins are in Europe. 17th century Dutch painting FTW.
-
Five years sounds great to me. And the reported salary of $2.5 - $3M doesn't bother me one bit. He's worth it.
-
This is probably because I wore my Ovechkin jersey today.
-
He's just talkin' 'bout Nick!
-
Oh, I didn't know we could vote for part-time players.
-
Is it bad that I don't know: A) Who David Tyree is? B) What team he plays for? C) What year Super Bowl XLII was? Seriously, I have no clue on any of those.

The ONE time I pick both Wings games correctly...I end up at the bottom. Gargh!
-
Meanwhile, he was one of the best players on the ice today. Save of the game went to Lilja and deservedly so.
-
That was the first Wings win I've seen since February 5th. Yeesh.
-
Yeah, they pronounced it "Ericsson". That was odd.

We've got an octopus! Repeat: we've got an octopus!

Miller's keeping the Sabres in this one. Wow.
