Ah, but with all the Buffalo players that piled onto Maltby while Pominville skated away with the puck, the whistle should have been blown due to roughing calls (with Buffalo in possession of the puck). Thus, the refs botched it by looking the other way yet again.

The refs are losing control out there, pure and simple. They let Maltby get manhandled in a scrum and no call. PP upcoming.

Columbus was deliberately trying to make Detroit overpay for Fedorov. It would have ended up a win-win for them. Detroit passes on the deal? Columbus doesn't help a division rival get better. Detroit takes it? Columbus screws Detroit out of some good assets in a very imbalanced deal.
