Doubt it. Babcock himself has said that D-Mac isn't in NHL game shape yet. His time in Grand Rapids has been on a tryout up until this offered contract. He's still a minor-leaguer at this point and I don't see him as a call-up just yet.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, harold...but then I looked at Giguere's size as compared to Brodeur, who has much smaller pads. Giguere: 6'1", 200lbs. Brodeur: 6'2", 215lbs. Marty's actually bigger than Giguere and uses significantly smaller pads. With the Brodeur factor in play, I don't think Giguere can justify that max-size equipment.

I'm actually sorry I missed this game. Figures that when I stop watching, the good stuff happens (the Lids injury notwithstanding).
-
I honestly think he's done in the league. The window of teams willing to take a chance on his has just about passed.
-
The one reason I don't see that happening is because Sundin is, without a doubt, a rental player. Burke has stated unequivocally that he's not giving up that 1st for a rental, especially if it looks like it's going to be a top 7 pick.

I'll gladly take a 13 from that awful weekend.

Hell, the bookshelf behind me has a zillion Transformers trade paperbacks in it. And that Care Bear, that was a gag from my wife a couple Christmases ago...I had Good Luck Bear when I was little, so she got a mini-Good Luck Bear.
-
See, I picked the Wings to lose this one in the weekend picks...so let's see if that helps them win.

I still don't see LA trading within their own division, but that's just me. The Kings have a local rivalry with the Ducks (even though it's a very lopsided rivalry) and I can't see them trading Blake to their rivals unless they get a LOT in return, just to screw them.

Sorry, Rabs. Still don't have enough hair to go for the fauxhawk yet.
-
2/5 for me. LA and Dallas saved me from an 0-fer.

wow...i called that one.

i'm gonna hold you to that, girly. btw...where's terri been? haven't seen her in a gdt in awhile?

I predicted nearly the opposite score last time...so I ain't evben gonna try that tonight. Instead, I took harold's advice (more of a commnand) and starting drinking when i got home from Work. I probably should have eaten meals tpoday.

Sure, great idea. You go first.

One interesting thing no one has brought up yet is that, besides knowing the system in Detroit, Fedorov has also played under Babcock. An important question is, was there any friction between Babcock and Fedorov in Anaheim? If there was, I wouldn't bet on him coming back to the D any time soon.

Rafalski out with a groin injury; Quincey called up

I don't see the league letting it happen again any time soon. Unfortunately, this'll mean that Bettman will probably just continue to put bandaids on problems until it all comes to a head in another decade or so.

Two words: RORY. FITZPATRICK. Get it done, Kenny!

Glad to see that Ozzie's getting the nod. Now, do I actually WATCH this game, hoping for an end to the slump...?

Blackburn too, although they rushed him into the NHL too quickly and prematurely ended his career. Good to see Lundqvist get a good deal.
