Any goaltender interference calls?
-
Too true. I'd rather see the Avs succeed than the Ducks any day. That speaks volumes. Hell, there's no one left on the Avs that I even really hate (except for Smyth, and he's barely been an Av). More success to Joe Sakic's team, I say.

Glad to hear it. I'm waiting for that initial Selanne spark to dissipate and for the Ducks to hit another losing streak. As for the "De-troy-it" pronunciation, I remember CBC's guys saying it that way for YEARS. Can't blame Crisp this time.

I can't believe that Walkom thought it was an "exceptional call". Then again, yes I can. Walkom's been anti-Wings for as long as I can remember.

I was just instructed to post this.

Okay, NOW take Ozzie out of there.
-
Eh, the first one, he was out of position. The second, he was hung out to dry. But I wouldn't put J-Ho in just yet...
-
Blech. Looks like J-Ho is gonna get some playing time tonight.
-
Bad one to give up by Ozzie. Out of position and in.

I guess the media forgot that, you know, there IS a salary cap!

Shannon didn't appear to make any effort to avoid contact with Khabibulin. Therefore, in my eyes, no goal. But, eh, what do we know? The officials are god.
-
True, I didn't quite consider that.

The NHL wants to know why hockey is a '2nd-tier sport'

Agreed. Did that goal end up counting? Shouldn't have. -
Damn. I would have loved to see Commodore in red.

He's actually got a career record of 1-2-0 in 4GP.

I had theorized that something wasn't quite right when he came up slow before giving up the OT GWG to Toronto over the weekend. This might have been it.

Last night's debacle makes me not want to watch hockey at ALL this week. If I was a borderline fan and not a die-hard, Bettman would have lost me for good.
-
Get well soon, Mick. We'll be thinkin' of ya.
-
I have photographic evidence that proves otherwise!

I'm surprised I did so well this weekend...considering I placed some faith in the Wings to win a couple games. I really need to start betting against them for weekend games.
-
Now I've got a Homer cut.

From Bruce MacLeod at RedWingsCorner: Can't argue with that.

Hey! No misappropriating one of my favorite movie quotes! The ref was on the wrong side of the net though, so he didn't even have the right perspective.

(i) and (ii, a) don't apply. Holmstrom wasn't in the crease. I've watched the replay again and again and I see him on the EDGE of the crease, but not in the paint. (ii, b) doesn't apply either, because by the time Giguere made contact with Holmstrom, the puck was already in the net. All it consistently comes down to is that the refs made a pair of bad calls, both involving goaltender interference: one which happened and wasn't called resulting in a goal; one which was called and didn't happen resulting in a goal being taken away. With those two bad calls, the refs handed the game to the Ducks, giving them a 3-2 lead instead of the Wings. Kunitz gets away with a blatant violation, Holmstrom gets called for no violation. Reputation call. And even IF Holmstrom was in the crease at the time when Giguere made contact with him...the puck had already gone in two feet to Giguere's right. Any incidental contact happened well after the fact. Giguere blew the save and the refs gave him a free pass.
