Believe me, I can't blame you for making that assumption. The decent announcers throughout the league are few and far between. San Jose's guys are a pleasure to listen to though. I remember last year during the playoffs, they were just as good. Gargh. High-sticking double minor, Flip goes off.

I love these San Jose guys. "There was a basketball game here at HP Pavilion before the game and, this just in, the Globetrotters won..." "You know, I put down money on that game and I just felt the Generals were due...I mean, it's like they weren't even trying! How many times can you fall for that stuff?" Wasn't there a Simpsons episode like that? "Oh, come on! Take the ball! He's just spinning it on his finger!"

Yeah, there's a thread in GD about it. Basically Wilson whining "Nabokov's the best goalie! He should start!" Babcock says, "Naaaah, I'm the coach. Ozzie's starting." And then he gives him a bilabial fricative. San Jose's looking strong on the PK tonight, so they've got something going for them. I gotta admit, I get nervous when we hold a team off the shot-count for so long in a game. Less than five minutes left in the period and we're outshooting the Sharks 5-0.

Hmm. It's not on NHL Network or Versus, so you should have it. I take it you've looked at the listings and don't see it there? Try scrolling through all your CI channels and see if a listing was mislabeled. I remember that happened for a game earlier this season; it was being shown on a channel that listed another game.

The producers for the San Jose feed are spot on with how they're doing things over there. That was rather neat for them to yank a great passing play clip from a past Sharks game (against the Stars) and then compare it to the pass from Dats to Zata, giving it all the praise it deserves.

I honestly think that Babcock's playing it smart, re: Ron Wilson's rantings that Nabby should start the ASG over Ozzie. If Ozzie had a bad game, Wilson would be chasing after Babcock going, "See? SEE?" Babs has enough on his plate without having to worry about a whiny coach on his back.

Thanks, I thought it was rather topical and appropriate for this time of the year. Wow, seeing the whole ice on that replay of Zata's goal...when we're on with our passing, we are ON. Goes to show how out of sync we've been in the past few games.

They just made a Roy joke on the San Jose feed, making a reference to that horrific game Dom had against the Sharks last season. "And then he said, 'I'm never playing for you again', right?" "No, you're thinking of another guy..." ZATA! Wow. That was phenomenal passing there.

With these guys, I think they meant it as a term of endearment though... San Jose's PbP guys are actually halfway decent. I doubt they'll harp on it all game like, say, Terry Crisp and Pete Weber would. Lilja startin' to mix it up tonight. Andreas needs to take some boxing lessons, I think.

I've got the San Jose feed on CI. And if I remember correctly, these guys aren't too bad in terms of bias in their play-by-play. Should be a good one.

Hmm. A little surprised that Ozzie's not in, considering how well he plays against the Sharks, but Babs is already standing up for Ozzie against Ron Wilson. Guess just in case Oz was to have a bad game, he wouldn't want to fuel Wilson's fire.

The Rangers have their dads along with them on this trip to Boston and one of the guys from MSG gave a little mini-interview to Sean Avery's dad Al in the stands. A couple of gems... "Well, I did have to escort him out of a few rinks back in the day..." "I think he got the gift of gab from his mother..."

My sentiments exactly. "Well, if Crosby were here..." "Crosby would have does THIS in the shootout competition..." "And now, while the game continues, let's speak to Sidney Crosby..." Here's hoping they can get PAST that and actually showcase some other deserving players during the All-Star Weekend.
