I think it's because they're afraid of taking a delay of game penalty.

And thus the problem with consistency in the league's officiating. Our guys don't pull that s*** because they know they'll get called on it, since they have consistently through the playoffs. The Ducks, on the other hand, constantly pull that s*** because the refs haven't called them on it for the entire postseason; it's become their gameplan.

After hearing today's Wootcast song from woot.com, I feel kinda bad for the Sabres. (didn't figure this warranted a new topic, so I tacked it on here...)

Lilja is quickly becoming one of my most respected guys on the team. I'm glad he'll be back with us next season. Sure, he may not be the best player on the ice. He may not even be the second-best defenseman on the ice many nights (best belongs to Nick, of course). But damn it if that @#$%er doesn't have heart. And say what you want about grit...but it's heart that wins Stanley Cups. Ask Steve Yzerman. There's something about being a Red Wing that turns players into champions. I'm very seriously tempted to make my next jersey a Lilja one.

That was their Lang/Franzen moment. Of course, Franzen didn't need to have a teammate hook the defenseman to score the goal.

It's odd, because during our first two series, he was so anti-Wings, it wasn't even funny.

I really wish I could see a different angle of Franzen's clearing attempt. That was damn close to being out of the zone.
