Dats is talking! Wow.
-
This could be the most brilliant signing Holland's ever made...or it could eventually lose him his job. We won't know for at least a few years.
-
I thought they determined it was. What's it at now, $45M?
-
They've got a good point on WXYT...depending on how much league revenues grow/how much the salary cap increases, this could be a HUGE deal, considering the length of the contract.
-
7-years, between $6 and $7 million. WXYT said it. TSN was right.
-
Matt has to change the title of the thread now.
-
7 years...that scares me a little bit, depending on the price of the contract. It could be an incredible bargain...or we could get hosed.
-
WXYT says they'll have the details after this next break...
-
TSN's got it up. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=203000&hubname=nhl But they're a little behind, particularly on the duration...
-
I'll concur with that. He's one of the better defensive forwards on the team, but to say he's the best puts him in Selke territory and he's not even close to that. His element of offense and puck possession balance that out, however.

Holy crap, that's a hell of an extension. I like the fact that we won't have this circus repeat itself for another five years. (I'm praying that Zetterberg's extension won't be a circus... ) EDITED: I'm a pottymouth today...
-
Holy crap. This could be huge.

Well, yes, I'm an Ozzie fan. I'm also a Hasek fan. And even a Cujo fan. But first and foremost, I'm a Wings fan. And this topic has been done TO DEATH. I have no problem with someone expressing their opinions, but it could have just as well been done in any one of the other "OMG OSBAD SUXX0RS TRADE HIM FOR BIRON!!!111" threads. As always, harold, you're my hero. Consistent voice of reason, ladies and gentlemen! Oh, now you're just comparing a goaltender to a right wing... ... *taps mic* Hello? Anyone? This thing on? Oh, I was bored last night, let me have my fun.

It's not like the Avs haven't been in a spot like this before, the stakes just weren't quite as high. Wasn't it just a few seasons ago that on the very last day of the season, Colorado managed to wrestle the division away from Vancouver despite all indications being that Vancouver would end Colorado's division-winning streak? Like I said, the stakes are higher here - they're fighting for their playoff lives, not just another banner - but I wouldn't quite count them out just yet. Sure, it's still not likely that Calgary will completely s#%t the bed...but it wasn't likely when the BoSox came back from an 0-3 deficit to beat the Yanks in '04. If we've learned anything in sports over the past few years, it's that anything can happen. EDIT: Stupid grammar.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE CREATED THE 1,000,000TH OSGOOD-BASHING THREAD! Seriously, could someone merge this with the other 999,999 threads?
-
Well, it could be worse, I suppose. He could have put Sammy out there after Dats.
-
At least we got that single point for the division. That's really all I cared about for these last two games. Tops in the West or the President's Trophy...that's just a bonus.
-
Way to go, Babcock. The man doesn't know how to choose a shootout lineup to save his life. It's fine to start with Dats, but Lang and Homer aren't the guys you want following him. Hudler, Calder, Flip...come on.
-
Sharp...scores, game over.
-
Hudler....glove deflection.
-
Hamilton...doesn't even shoot!
-
Homer...not even close. Why not Calder and Hudler? Or is Babcock waiting to put them in for a GWG like Hitchcock did with Fedorov?
-
Vrbata...SAVED!
-
Lang up... Khabibulin stops it.
