Major League was on Comedy Central today. This game's getting a little chippy, ain't it?
-
Just read more details on it... Avery had a career high of 3 points (1 goal, 3 assists) and Boston's goaltending (namely Joey Mac) was atrocious. Only played 14:53, 4 goals on 11 shots. Ouch. ...damn Vancouver.
-
Why the hell is Lids in the box? Cheli should be in there...
-
Did I just see that score right? Rangers over Boston 7-0?!
-
Another Vancouver penalty, looks like. Matching minors?
-
Sorry, I have CBC... Wow, what a dick... Broke the net...
-
Career best for Dats, 10-game point streak (16 points over the course of that streak).
-
DATS!!! More PP time coming up!
-
Too Many Men on Vancouver, Matt Cooke the guilty party.
-
Smolinski to the box.
-
Danke, just found it. That was stupid of them... Found it a couple channels below the Nashville/Dallas game, if that counts for anything.
-
Wings PK coming up (I'm resorting to the NHL.com radio feed )...
-
Anyone have the number for SportsInDemand?
-
This is ridiculous. Second time in as many weeks that CI has screwed things up. Last time, it was the entire set of feeds. This time, just the Wings/Nucks game.
-
Of course, the Colorado/Phoenix game is on and broadcasting on CI and that was a 10pm start...
-
Okay, so that's East Coast and Midwest with Center Ice problems right now...would the West Coast/Southwest please chime in?
-
Er...anyone else having a problem with Center Ice? The channel that it's scheduled on for me (on Cablevision) is still showing the schedule screen...
-
This is how I'm seeing this game...sloppy 1st and 2nd periods by the Wings, frantic 3rd period playing catch-up and falling short. Just an honest prediction. We're simply NOT good on the road. 4-2 Nucks. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Meanwhile, Marty's getting shelled today. The Devils only have 6 SOG through a period and a half...and they're losing to the Hurricanes 4-0. EDIT: Wow, he just got pulled. That's a rarity. Four goals on twelve shots against.
-
Chicago, especially. When they got Khabibulin, I don't think anyone thought he'd be the free agent signing bust that he was.
-
Am I the only one that looks at that image and feels it to be a bit, I don't know, haunting? It gives me one of those "I never want to see that again" chill-down-my-spine feelings. Maybe I'm just strange.
-
Pretty much. The Devils aren't the defensive powerhouse they used to be (sure, there are only seven teams that give up fewer SOG per game...but seven's a lot more than zero) and Brodeur's facing more rubber than he used to. And believe me, I was one of those people that said, "Watch, Brodeur's going to be exposed as a fraud once his defensive corps dissolve." I was wrong - Marty's the real deal. The ONLY real deal on that Devils team. If they had anyone else in net, be it Biron, Khabibulin or even Hasek, they would be struggling to see the postseason.

You know, when you put it that way, I can understand the 4 or 5 people tossing the catfish on the ice. "Phew, this thing is really getting ripe...I don't give a damn if we're losing, I'm tossing this mother..." Dude, I would pay to see that just once. Okay, I hate the Preds...but it's because Gary Bettman made me. Okay, not really. In all honesty, it's not such a bad thing. Like cincywingfan was saying, I'd like to see the Central become respectable. Until St. Louis bottomed out, it was always Detroit and them fighting for the division...and Chicago, Nashville and Columbus were 20+ points behind. Now, St. Louis and Nashville have switched spots. What I'd love to see is the Central get really competitive like the Northwest is. Nashville becoming competitive in the past few seasons is a big part of that, so while yeah, it's a "manufactured rivalry" and all that, it's become a rivalry nonetheless. It's good for the division and it's good for the game. But I still hate those inbred rednecks! (and yes, that last sentence was sarcasm!)

Between Crosby, Lecavalier, Brodeur and Lidstrom, I have to give it to Brodeur. Out of all the players listed above, Brodeur is the only one who can truly claim to be THE star of the team. Crosby, Lids and Vinnie all have supporting cast members, as it were, that can take away from their lustre. The Devils, however, have lost their stars over time, leaving Marty with the crown. That said, Crosby will still probably win it.

Just saw that over at TSN too...and I have to say to them...SHHHHH! You're gonna ruin it! No one's supposed to be paying any attention to us!
