That's the first thing I always notice. Yet Steve Moore isn't suing any Avs players. Tragic occurrence, but there were a lot of factors that could have caused Moore's injuries.

Met Gordie and Colleen Howe at the Denny's outside Lakeside Mall maybe about 8 years ago. Got to chat with them for a bit before their meal came (I didn't want to intrude, but they were both so welcoming) and got Gordie's autograph on a Denny's order ticket. Found out that at the time, they were living right near Chippewa Valley HS (my alma mater) at 19 and Romeo Plank...which in turn was practically walking distance from my parents' house. Really neat for me. My dad's met more Wings than me, however. He used to work at Whole Foods in Troy and he regularly saw Shanny and Stevie in there (almost ran over Shanny with a pallet one day... "All of Michigan would have killed me if I'd injured him!" my dad said...Shanny was cool about it, though ). And I remember one year when I was working carts at the Lakeside Toys 'R Us for the holiday, back when I was 15 (so it would have been 1994, I think), Dino Ciccarelli was buying Christmas gifts...unfortunately, I didn't get to see/meet him, just heard it secondhand from the cashiers. I need to find out where Shanny hangs out in NY and just...bump into him one of these days.

I dunno, goalies just seem to have a tendency to panic when Dats is coming in on them like that. It's probably not unlike the "OMG" feeling a tender must have felt when they saw Al MacInnis pulling back for a slapshot. They spend too much time analyzing the situation ("Oh crap oh crap oh crap here he comes is he going to deke or toedrag is he going to go low or high backhand or forehand oh crap oh crap oh...crap, it's already behind me...") and not enough time just relying on instinct and reaction. I finally saw the replay of the goal this morning and while I thought it was a great Datsyuk goal, I had to watch it over and over again, wondering how Vokoun managed to whiff on that.

Since I was only listening on the radio feed, I didn't even hear about this. What happened to 'em? And you're dead on - between our two teams, there's a hell of a lot of talent among the injured. What's even more impressive is that, despite all the injuries, both of our teams keep winning.

I know, I know...I just wanted to make sure the message didn't get screwed up, that's all. I knew moocat meant well...he should have just showed a bad goal on Brodeur, that's all. Off for the evening, braving the cold, until next game!

Er, not meaning to be a Correcting Carl, but someone did. Something like "Hasek has never let in a bad goal like that, not even close." I think moocat was just going for the whole "No goalie is perfect" message. And with that aside...great game tonight...and now I get to go home.
