(begin hi-jacking of thread) I'm getting a little ahead of myself here, but if Osgood wins another 34.5 lb, shiny, silver chalace, and gets to 400 wins by the end of his career, it will make for an interesting HOF debate... (end hi-jacking of thread)

ESPN says that both games will be on Versus. Since they start at the same time, I'm not sure how they would pull that off unless they do a split screen (I'm kidding). I hope Washington at Philadelphia is the Versus game just because I can already watch the Boston at Montreal game on CBC. Can't wait for Coach's Corner tonight, by the way. God bless CBC! EDIT: I honestly would be shocked if Boston at Montreal is on Versus considering Philadelphia is owned by Comcast, who also owns Versus, and the NHL would surely prefer Ovechkin on national television over anyone on Montreal or Boston.

I was impressed, but since I've seen him play in juniors and thought he was a solid player I wouldn't say I was seriously impressed. I thought his speed was great. He seemed to be generating chances and was really good in the transition game. Give him a puck-moving defenseman out there like Kronwall or Lidstrom and I bet you would see multiple odd-man rushes between him and Hudler.

Oops! Just realized after reading JayUp's first post that I forgot to link the original article. Here it is... 2009 Winter Classic EDIT: The Winter Classic is about half way into the article.

Is this a joke?

LOVE IT! KARMA *******!!!
-
That was supposed to be sarcasm on my part.

Anyone getting this game on Versus? Being from Michigan I still got it on CBC, but I have some rodeo s*** on Versus right now and ESPN says it should be broadcasted on Versus. EDIT: Nevermind, ESPN screwed up (of course). The Anaheim vs. Dallas game is going to be on Versus.

I couldn't believe how many times Samuelsson turned over the puck today. Oh wait, yes I can Babcock said Helm was "fantastic" today. Since Maltby is a winger I can't see him taking Helm's spot so Samuelsson would be the logical choice, especially if Stuart's finger is 100% so he can take over on the 2nd PP. By the way: Gotta point out GMR's support of Hudler! Mark this date in history!
-
Babcock said Ozzie is our guy in is post game press conference, so that should negate the urge for anyone to start another goalie thread until Round 2 starts.
-
You don't honestly think Filppula has to worry about being scratched, do you?
-
Most important thing about closing out the series today; NO INJURIES! Rest up, boys. I bet Babs will give them the day off tomorrow and they will be back at it Tuesday. Bring on the Flames/Dives!
-
I think Helm as proven he has more to offer than Hartigan for sure. He was flying out there today and was generating chances on Ellis. Him and Hudler seem to have some chemistry.
-
Yea, let's get rid of Hudler, especially after his play this year in the postseason...
-
Helm has had a a really good game.
-
The Flames are actually a lower seed than the Dives so if they happen to win the next 2 against SJ than they would be our 2nd round opponent.
-
I'm surprised at the amount of people who want to face the Dives. As much as we dominated them in the regular season, Theodore is a completely different goalie, and they are actually completely healthy. I don't think it would be as easy of a series as people are making it out to be. Definitely would go 6 games at least. I'm not really sure if I would rather play Theodore as opposed to Kiprusoff at this point.

Will somebody please think about the children!

What's the big deal? Ovechkin is the opposing teams best player. Who cares what they say? I've never understood the whole issue of "class" amongst teams people seem to care so much about on these boards. It's sports people! I think that would actually be one of the funniest things to ever take part in at a Wings game. Of course, you would have to get the suits off their blackberry's for ten minutes in order for this to happen...I believe the fans at Red Wings games have too much class. I love when fans get rowdy and talk s*** about the other teams. Healthy competition. No one's hurt. No foul. Big deal. Lack of class? Maybe. But not really anything out of the ordinary when it comes to sporting events in America.

And that's exactly it. Look at our top prospects and you will see we don't have anyone close to this guy in terms of scoring potential. Yes, we have some skilled guys in Emmerton, Dick Axelsson and Jan Mursak, but they aren't nearly ready for the NHL. Brunnstrom may not be the sniper that someone of this much hype should be at this point in his career, but in the salary cap world, this can really have a huge impact on our future if he pans out. and And the best part -- he's over 6' and 200 lbs!

It really takes 2 seconds to spell a guys name right. This is not directed at you HudlerRules, it's just that 9/10 people say they don't know how to spell "Abdelkader" but never take the time to figure it out. It's not really even a hard name to pronounce. AB-DEL-KAY-DER

Bruins fan celebrates by urinating on crowd
WhiteLightning91 replied to Creasemonkey's topic in General
My question is what exactly was he celebrating as a Bruins fan? They lost the game, and to make it worse, they got shutout. EDIT: Saw the date -- Nevermind -
Just reported on CBC by Ron MacLean. More to come... EDIT: TSN confirms: Canucks Part Ways With General Manager

I've read they aren't looking to hire a GM until closer to the draft.
-
Even if Vancouver offers him what he wants, the fact that they are without a permenant GM is a turnoff to Fabian. He wants to know what the direction of the team is if he signs there. Vancouver isn't expected to name a permenant GM until close to the NHL Draft. That would put them out of the running for Brunnstrom since he has only 2-3 weeks to sign with an NHL team before he is contractually obligated to Farjestad for next season. We have a better shot at this than you think.
