Reasons why Holland, Bowman, Nill, Yzerman will NOT leave Detroit this off-season: 1) Holland has 3 years to go on his current deal. 2) Bowman loves his situation with the Red Wings. I can see him going to Toronto if he is given total control and since TOR is closer than Vancouver. 3) Nill is already paid like a top GM 4) Yzerman is, well, Red Wings Hockey. No way he leaves here, at least not this year. I get the feeling he is going to be the next GM after Holland. I really do not feel we have much to worry about Vancouver. Toronto is a possibility for Bowman, but since he interviewed for the job last summer and didn't end up getting it, I'm guessing MLSE wasn't willing to give him everything he was asking for.

Seems to me he is going to get the same deal that Grigorenko got this year; a chance to prove he is an NHL-ready player for a month and then management will re-evaluate their perception of Brunnstrom's progress. I believe this is the correct decision. We may not get him, but it could prevent some potential locker-room drama...

All I know is whoever was officiating Games 1 & 2 of our series should definitely NOT officiate in the Finals. I can understand missing the offsides goal, but the 1st Radulov goal in Game 2 should have definitely been reviewed. Of course, as long as the calls are in Detroit's favor, I can deal with the zebra's a little easier.

I must be in the minority since I think Keith Jones does a pretty good job on Versus.

For totally selfish reasons I hope SJ makes it through the 1st round. I'm hoping Calgary will make the series go 7 games because I want SJ to be as worn out physically as possible when we would potentially have to face them in the 3rd round (of course we both make have to make it that far). My ideal 2nd round matchups would be: (1) Detroit vs. (6) Colorado (2) San Jose vs. (5) Dallas A 2nd round series against Dallas would really suck for SJ. Just the physical toll it would take for them to get past Calgary would already put them at a disadvantage. Dallas is really showing some resilience in the playoffs too. They weren't given a chance against the Ducks and have really started to show why they were one of the best teams in the West up until March or so. Why Colorado? Well, for one, less travel than Calgary. I think the Dives are riding a high right now, but still have weakness on defense. Colorado is a less threatening atmosphere to play in than Calgary's barn as well.

Bob Cole and Jim Hughson from HNIC always do a great job. Bob does game 1 and Jim will do game 2 usually. Both are very knowledgeable of the game, they know when to shut up, when to let the play speak for itself, and thye will give balanced commentary (Bob Cole is the only person I can listen to while watching Leaf games). Jim Hughson has the best play-by-play voice as well. I was hoping VS. would go after him since his contract was going to be up this year but I think him going anywhere other than TSN or CBC was out of the question.

The irony here is that Thornton and Getzlaf have a combined point total of 3 assists. Ryan Clowe is the only guy showing up for the Sharks offensively and the Ducks, well they have yet to realize their playoff series started a week ago...

Can't say that I am. Hate baseball with a passion. My feeling is just that it will eventually happen anyway so why get so worked up over something that you can't control. I just don't understand why people do not realize the NHL is a business first, sport second. As sad as that is, that's life.

I'm all for anything that increases revenue, therefore increasing the Cap. It's good for the Wings, bad for Nashville.

You guys know that parking is free as long as you get your parking pass validated at one of the casinos right??? I do it all the time. Everytime I got to Wings game I park in the greektown garage. Then, after the game I walk into the casino and get my parking pass validated. When the person sees you're parking pass validated, you don't pay for the parking. Yea, its dishonest and a scam, but so is the Mayor... EDIT: Of course, in order for this to work, you have to be old enough to gamble.

As much as Samuelsson pisses me off, I feel good about this move. The thing that gets my blood pressure going is that he is a 3rd liner who has been forced to play as a top six forward. I have no problem with Samuelsson playing as long as he is not a top-six forward and is not used on the point on the PP. You're going to be hard pressed to find a better 3rd line winger who can put up 40+ points and makes only $1.2M. Babcock is finally using Samuelsson how he should be used.
