    Gritty Red Wings Wallpaper

That would look sweet on a T-Shirt. Nice vintage look to it.

    The Avs sucker

You can bet that Boogaard or Fedoruk or Simon will definitely have an answer for Laperriere come Game 1 of that series. I'll definitely make sure I'm tuning in for that game.

    4/6 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blackhawks 1

Why do so many of you guys get your panties all up in a bunch over the damn commentators??? Does commentators singing the praises of the Red Wings really get you off that much??? I just never understood why so many get so irritated over commentators other than Ken & Mickey. If you hate listening to them, just mute your TV.

Well there's something you'll never hear again... "That was the Jason Williams team" (Referring to the 2001-02 team)

    Round 1: Wings vs. Predators

Maltby - Will miss the beginning of Round 1. I'm thinking he will probably return by Game 3 or Game 4, depending on how the series is going for the Wings. Samuelsson - Will likely miss Game 1. No date has been slated for his return at this point.

Boston v. Ottawa, Nashville v. Chicago

Ottawa, Boston, and Philly are all in. One of Carolina or Washington will not be in. If Washington wins tomorrow, they are in as the SE division winner. If they lose, Carolina is in as the SE division winner.

    Playoff Lineup

In a perfect world, the whole line-up would be healthy. In a perfect world, Downey or McCarty would take his spot due to the physical pounding our star players are likely to encounter in the playoffs. Unfortunately, with our current injury situation, he will be in the line-up due to a lack of able bodies. I still believe Hudler will become a solid contributer on this team in the future -- he just needs to gain some confidence and needs to learn how to create space for himself in the offensive zone.

Playoff Line-Up Filppula Datsyuk Holmstrom Franzen Zetterberg Cleary Hudler Draper Drake Downey Abdelkader McCarty Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Chelios Lilja Hasek Osgood Scratched Hartigan Lebda Meech Injured Samuelsson (MLive reports that he will likely not be ready for Game 1) Maltby (MLive reports he will miss beginning of Round 1) Kopecky (Out 4-6 months)

    Sign Abdelkader (now please)

Abdelkader signed to a three-year entry-level contract My feeling is that we will see him on the roster next season if he plays solid in the playoffs.

    Big Surprise on Versus Tonight

You're correct. No one has said those words in this thread, but those statements have been posted on here before.

    Big Surprise on Versus Tonight

Wow. Some of you people really need to take a class in Economics of a Capitalistic Society. THE NHL IS A BUSINESS FIRST AND FOREMOST!!! They don't care what YOU want to see. They care about the GENERAL AUDIENCE. You think tickets are expensive now. Imagine what they would be if you guys had your way where there were no corporate sponsors on the boards, none of the arenas had a corporate name, and all the teams got equal amounts of airtime on national broadcasts. The NHL would be dead! Penguins vs. Rangers = Relatively good ratings Got it?

NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?

Simmer down now. I completely agree with what you are saying. My point is that other teams are not as competent and don't have the patience or sense to keep this guy in their minor league system for a year or two like we would. That is definitely going to hurt our chances. Money is not as much of a factor as playing time is. If playing time is more important to Fabian than money, Toronto and Vancouver are at an advantage simply because the Red Wings have a much tougher lineup to crack. In a perfect world, Fabian would play here because we have a better chance at winning a Cup than Vancouver or Toronto. In a perfect world, he would wait until he would gladly adjust to the the NA game by playing in GR for a year or two, then come up here as a 25-26 year old with a much more well-rounded game. One problem: Fabian wants to play in the NHL next season as a top-six forward and there are other teams who will give him that chance.

No Brunnstrom for you then. He isn't going to come here to play in the AHL when a desperate team for scoring, IE VAN or TOR, is willing to give him top-six minutes next year on their club.

I'd be surprised if he's 5'9" with lifts. Yet his pads are long enough for someone about 6 inches taller than him
