And knowing this you still stand behind your boner for Samuelsson???

Gotta give a to this deal. Prospal is one of the few players we have enough talent to land. TB: Cory Emmerton, 3rd in 2008, 2nd in 2009 Det: Vaclav Prospal

Trade deadline in 2 weeks. Your one winger, and D.

I'm still shocked at how much people over-value our players. People need to realize that it isn't so much what Hossa, Sundin, Blake, etc. are worth as much as it's about how much other teams are willing to give up for those guys. Which is a hell of a lot more than we are/have. -
way to not go too overboard...

Tucker? Are you ******* serious? There's a reason why the Laughs are in the position they are and a reason why the Wings are in the position they are.

Can you say 7 AM bag skate tomorrow? Make it happen Babcock!

Ville Leino Put him on Filppula's wing and Brunnstrom on the other side!
-
He won't be cheap at all. He will command a rookie max contract of around $3.8M, bonuses included.

After the debacle that was the Luongo trade, there is no way Florida lets themselves get hosed again. They will make damn sure they get fair value for Jokinen.

Quick look at the former 1st rounders on each teams roster at present time... ANA - 10 ATL - 7 BOS - 7 BUF - 6 CAL - 10 CAR - 10 CHI - 11 COL - 5 CBJ - 9 DAL - 7 DET - 2 EDM - 10 FLA - 10 LA - 8 MIN - 7 MON - 7 NAS - 7 NJ - 5 NYI - 6 NYR - 7 OTT - 10 PHI - 14 PHX - 8 PIT - 14 STL - 11 SJ - 8 TB - 3 TOR - 9 VAN - 10 WAS - 11 I have actually always wondered this but have been too lazy to go through and figure it out. Really proves which team has the best scouting in the league and who has the worst. What's everyone's opinion on our lack of 1st rounders? Can we keep surviving with steals? Or do we really have scouts who are that much better?

...And my mom said I was wasting my money on AO rookie cards...

Correct. Most people would think Howard is out of waiver options after this season but goalies have one extra year of eligibility since they usually take a little longer to fully develop the mental aspect of the NHL.
-
Technically he is only making $1.5M this year but the cap hit is the average salary over the course of the contract. Therefore, his cap hit will be $3M through 2011-2012.

5th place was too frightened by the possibility they may have to face the Winged Wheel at some point during the post season, therefore they anonymously withdrew.

Meech will still be playing as the #6 D-man on the team.

I was actually looking forward to seeing Quincey or Ericsson coming up and playing a few games in Kronnic's place. Hopefully Lebda has completely recovered from his wrist injury. With the type of cushion we have in the conference standings, I think they should, if anything, give him an extra day or so to make sure it is fully healed. Then again, we do have one of the most cautious medical staffs in the game so I will trust their judgment. EDIT:

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah Seriously, that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in hockey :rotflmao:

Are you ******* serious?

Actually the Joe has the 3rd largest capacity in the league, behind only Montreal and Chicago.

Downey is the only fighter the Wings will ever bring in because of his discipline. He never gets into a fight for no reason and he stays out of the penalty box when he is on the ice. The Wings all really seem to like Downey quite well also. Everyone on this team never has anything but positives to say about his personality and work ethic. He is a Babcock type player.
-
Not exactly. He still needs to be offered a contract by the Red Wings in order to be called up. My guess is he would be offered a two-way contract if he gets one from the Wings, meaning he could be called up when/if an injury occurs (knock on wood). The only problem with a two-way contract is that he would have to clear waivers when he is sent back down to Grand Rapids. With a player in DMac's situation, it would be very important for him to stay in game shape if the Wings are serious about him being on the roster. It would suck if he got a contract from the Wings, then called up for injury purposes (knock on wood) and ended up getting picked up on waivers once he was sent back down...

Red Wings Corner McCarty offered 25-game tryout

Ohhh, that's Perry. I didn't recognize him without the visor on...
