Note to anyone who was planning on watching on FSN South: According to Kukla's Korner, the game will not be televised on FSN South so that the ACC College Basketball game between Boston College and Maryland can begin at its scheduled time of 7:30 PM. The Top 50 Touchdowns will be played at 5:00PM instead. http://www.newsobserver.com/796/story/819237.html

Anybody have Datsyuk VS interview from last night?
WhiteLightning91 replied to WingNutt's topic in General
I totally understand what your saying. I think the question he was asked was something like "Was it more special winning the Cup against the Canadiens instead of another team?" and his response had something to do with winning faceoffs. He didn't understand the question whatsoever. -
I guess that was Dandeneault doing his best impression of Shanahan from The Brawl.
-
What in the hell did Gordie just say??? I'm guessing he didnt understand what the reporter asked him cause his answer had nothing to do with what the 2nd question was.

UPDATE: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3141472 Downie was recalled the Flyers today

BRING BACK #25!!!

This is just further proof that Henrik Lundqvist should win the Hart.

Until the Owner's start to lose money, Bettman will be going nowhere. As much as we hate him, the majority of owner's love him.

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/200712..._suspended.html Riley Cote was given a 3 games suspension. The Philadelphia Flyers have been put on notice that they will be looked at extra carefully by the league...All I gotta say is that I'll believe it when I see it

Wait, so its not just a continuous loop that they have played at every home game for all these years??? News to me. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I was pumped up by a song at the JLA. Luckily for the Wings I don't really care what music is being played since I am usually paying full attention to the game. But the argument could be made that the music at the JLA has something to do with it always being sooo quiet.

Watch out for the Ducks in a couple seasons. They have two 1st/2/3 rounders this year because of the Penner deal. Yea, they took a step backwards this season, but they are going to be good for a while still.

Reducing goalie equipment will do nothing for excitement. All you will see is the defending team collapsing around their net. You think there are a lot of blocked shots in todays game...? I still say contraction is the easiest way to make the league more exciting. The only reason why the trap is so widely used is because too many teams have too few talented players who can beat it, thus resulting in less talented teams seeing it as the only way to control a game. The league needs to cut teams and weed out the fringe players. The talent level has been watered down so much because of so many teams being in the leage.

I will be shocked if something doesn't finally happen to the Flyer's organization. Oh wait, this is the NHL we're talking about, no I won't.

How big of a raise are we talking for Franzen??? I honstly can't see him making much more than Samuelsson ($1.2M), unless he has a monster playoffs. He hasn't produced the way I thought he would but I still think he can produce some goals. As for Cleary, I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Draper ($2.128M).

A Cup hangover is the lamest excuse in the book. I can take that for about the first 5-10 games of the season. After that, get your head out of your ass and play some hockey. And who are these injured players you speak of? As far as I know, they do not ave anyone on the Injured List. They are completely healthy. That excuse is out the window. I would say they have a a slightly above average defense, not "great." They had a "great" defense last year. Beauchemin and Pronger are going to be completely exhausted by the time April comes around. As far as goaltending goes, Giguere has been playing poor all year. He is barely keeping his SV % about 900 and is at a GAA of 2.63.

You people really need to use your brain...Columbus has never been even remotely close to making the playoffs, and now that they are, you think they arre going to trade away their 3rd leading scorer, 2nd line center, and one of the few guys on their team who has worlds of playoff experience??? Yea, why not?

Well he was drafted in the summer of 1998 but we all know he wasn't brought over until the 2001-02 season. If my memory serves me correcty he was still playing with Dynamo Yekaterinburg of the RSL for the 1998-99 season and I remember reading about him having a pretty solid year. EDIT: Grammar

Ellis is still not practicing because of "headaches" after the Tootoo elbow he recieved in last weeks game against Nashville. It sounds like he got a concussion to me but for some reason Babcock keeps referring to it as "headaches." How bad of a "headache" can it be if he has been out for a week now??? From MLive: "Matt Ellis (headaches) skated before practice Wednesday and Babcock said he should be ready to play after the weekend."

Downey better still be in the line-up. There is no reason why he should have to sit for Hartigan. In no way does Hartigan bring nearly as much influence to this team as Downey can. EDIT: Looks like Downey is still in because of Maltby being out tonight... Lines from this morning's skate ... Anyone remember Maltby getting shakin' up any last night??? At least this will put an end to my worries about Filppula being hurt.
