I honestly thought the Drake-Ellis-Downey line played pretty solid last night. They only played half a dozen shifts but always created something in the Kings zone when they were out there. As a 4th line, thats exactly what the coach wants of you; create chances, forecheck, try to draw a penalty, & get the opposition off their game. Babcock can't be disappointed in what he saw last night from them.

I'm a little worried honestly...Zetterberg is in a contract year and is absolutely tearing it up. If he lead the league in points, he can definitely squeeze out as much money from Holland as he wants, and Holland is going to have to give it to him since Hank is the cornerstone of this franchise. I would love to see Hank lead the league, but I would rather he tail off this pace a little just so his agent can't use that as leverage against us next year.

Sounds to me like Bertuzzi is not going to play tonight... Per ESPN... Bertuzzi sat out the final two periods with what Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said was an apparent concussion. Bertuzzi was hurt when hit by Minnesota winger Derek Boogaard nearly 14 minutes into the game. "He moved the puck toward the net and Boogaard ... I don't know if he ran down but he took an extra step to come down to hit him," Carlyle said, according to The Los Angeles Times. "His shoulder or arm area caught flush on the jaw of Bertuzzi." The severity of Bertuzzi's concussion is unknown. He will be re-examined Monday; Carlyle told The Times his player is "highly doubtful" for Monday night's home game against Detroit.

Anyone have an explanation as to why we are experiencing the complete opposite problem this season as we did last season? Last season our power play, well, sucked, but for some reason this season it is firing on all cylinders. Now this season our 5 - 5 play, well, sucks, where as last year it was the only way we could score. What is the dealio??? EDIT: Grammar

As for those who say its only 3 games into the season, thats the exact same response we were given last year. "Well, its only 3 games into the season" Next thing you know, its January and we still didn't have it figured out.

I'd say that has more to do with it being the beginning of the year and goalies being rusty than the quality of goaltending.

Getting rid of teams is the best way to improve the quality of the product on the ice. Less teams means wayyy more competition for roster spots. Basic supply and demand. Then we could weed out the dozens of borderline NHL players and be able to focus on the star players.

I'm really upset about this. I had so much hope for Franzen and he showed so much promise in the playoffs last year as well as the preseason...
