Can someone please tell me why playing the other original teams means absolutely anything anymore??? It did way back when...how are those rivalries any different now than the Colorado rivalry?? People need to realize that the games against them are not more exciting than any other game. I'm sorry but the games against Toronto and Montreal were nothing special this year. I'll pick staying in the West and watching Crosby/Malkin/Staal 8 times a year than facing the players on Montreal, Toronto, Boston, and New York any day of the week.

And yet there were a ton of empty seats at that game because it was boring as hell...
-
Is that your opinion of how it should be or something that has been confirmed by the NHL...I can't imagine they would let something like that go public considering the Pens and Pittsburgh officials have not made a definite decision yet on the arena soap opera so I'm gonna say that is your opinion.

BS until you have a source...

Can someone tell me what is with the music they play after Pavel Datsyuk scores? Its like some banjo music or something...

I have no idea what you are talking about...

Hasek and Samuelsson due back for Friday March 9th

You will never see Maltby's name on the scratch list unless he is injured...It will be Bootland, then Hudler. -
If its Aftonbladet, wouldn't put too much into it...
-
Do you have the article available?
-
And if Lang and Chilios knew how to clear the puck they wouldn't have scored the second goal. Give it a rest moron...Ozzy played a solid game. The Wings D, can't say the same...
-
Bootland did play a pretty solid game yesterday...I noticed at the end of the ame he was getting the nod more than Hussey or Langfeld or Ellis so hopefully that means that he is putting forth more effort than he did in the pre-season. Bootland played over 9 minutes yesteday where as Langfeld/Hussey/Ellis didn't even combine for that amount of time on the ice. Like to of seen Bootland show his physical side a little more though. I only saw him out there against Tootoo I think a couple times.

Typically ESPN is the fastest for everything...the onlyproblem with them is that they do not post every goal...they just put a video up with a recap of the important parts of the game...www.NHL.com has all the goals/hits/saves in it's highlights machine.

Hmm...I must've been at a different game because my section almost fell asleep there in the 2nd period before Lang scored. In OT though, it did get louder (mostly because everyone was pissed as hell at Lang for almost blowing it) and it definitely got louder in the shootout.

It is a little coincidental that we all of a sudden have all these injuries but my guess is 2 or 3 of our injured players would be playing if this was the playoffs... INJ(Hank) - Datsyuk - INJ(Homer) Calder - Lang - INJ(Bert) INJ(Cleary) - Filppula - INJ(Sammy) Franzen - Draper - Maltby Hudler/Kopecky ( Not enough room for both) Lidstrom - Kronwall Schneider - Markov Lebda - Chelios Lilja INJ(Hasek) Osgood Howard That is what are roster will probably look like after everyone gets back. Hopefully we will be able to roll 4 lines for a handful of games before the playoffs start. That will be important for chemistry purposes, especially the 2nd and 3rd lines.

Wings Management seems to feel they are going to be the ones who go East... From the Free Press... "I can assure you if anybody from the Eastern Conference moves West, we'll be the Western team to go East," senior vice president Jimmy Devellano told me Tuesday. If realignment is required, Devellano assured me the Wings have laid the groundwork to shift easterly. "We've already done that," he said, "we've done that for a long time." (End of Story) Pretty much seems they are set on moving if it is even the slightest possibility. Though Bill Daly's response is a little disheartening... "I asked NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly about the unfairness regarding travel..."it's not a new burden for Detroit, and that it has benefited the league to have Detroit in the West, which would play into the league's consideration of how to realign." "Detroit would clearly have a strong case," Daly said, "but by the same token, there are other teams in the Western Conference that kind of depend on Detroit being in the Western Conference, so ... there's always balancing involved that would involve a lot of debate, I'm sure, with respect to what you do with the realignment. But hopefully we never get there. At least at this point."

Homer out a few games, Hasek back this weekend

So this is our line-up??? Filppula - Datsyuk - Hudler Calder - Lang - Franzen ? - Draper - Maltby Hussey - Ellis - Langfeld Lidstrom - Kronwall Markov - Schneider Lebda - Lilja ? (7th D-Man) Osgood Howard I'm guessing the other 3rd-Liner will probably be Bootland...I don't think they have another choice...But he would have to clear waivers to get back down to Grand Rapids I believe. Oh boy, better just give the Preds the 2 points... -
Seems Rex has been learning more about The Joe than the uniform Hudler's Helmet Adventure

Thanks a lot RWF19. I saw that all the home games on FSN were in HD but the schedule over on Fox Sports didn't have the March schedule up yet for the game they were going to be showing in HD. First time seeing a game in HD for me tonight! CAN'T WAIT! Oh yeah...The prediction Red Wings: 5 (Lang, Rex (2), Holmstrom, Lidstrom) Blackhawks: 1 (Sharp)

Alright guys...need some help!!! My friend has an HDTV and I have never seen a game on it. Tonight were planning on watching the game at his house. So My question is does anyone know if tonights game is in High Def? MOST APPRECIATED!!!

If only Kopecky was coming back too and had a spot in the line-up Well, atleast I can't blame that on Williams anymore...
-
I would wanna put him on a line with Datsyuk just because Dats keeps wanting a russian on his line.
-
This is how I wanna see it next year... Grigorenko - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi UFA - Zetterberg(2.7) - Holmstrom(2.25) Hudler - Filppula(850K) - Kopecky Franzen(900K) - Draper(2.128) - Cleary(675K) (Samuelsson(1.2)) Lidstrom(7.6) - Kronwall(1.5) Kindl - Markov Lebda(550K) - Chelios (Lilja(1.0)) I'm not gonna get into goalies for now. All I know is that Ozzy is signed for next year at 800K. I just do not see Robert Lang wanting to re-sign here. He could be a #1 center on many other teams and is nearing the end of his career. Why spend the last couple years on a 3rd line when you can be on the #1 elsewhere? I do not think we will re-sign Maltby. He is not what he used to be and is showing that he has lost a step since the lockout. He is still a great PK'er but with guys like Draper/Franzen/Cleary/Kopecky/Datsyuk/Zetterberg able to kill penalties, he is unfortunately replaceable. Samuelsson is going to have to make a pretty good case in the playoffs this year to prove to me why we should put him in the line-up instead of Kopecky. I wanna see what Kopecky can do and he was really growing on me before his injury. I think with more confidence he could be a decent physical player for us. Needs to add a few pounds still. On defense I hope to see Chelios and Markov back again. Chelios really has proven he is still very much able to play. I wanna see Kindl in the line-up as well. They said he almost made it out of camp this year but with Lebda and Lilja already on the squad, there was no place to put him. He is having himself a damn fine year and has proven to be looked at as a big part of the future of this team. Evidence would be the fact that he was a definite No-No when it came to any trades this year. I would like to see another winger signed by us in the offseason as well as Bertuzzi. Preferably another physical/power forward type. (In no order) Scott Hartnell, Jamal Mayers, Todd Fedoruk or Ruslan Fedotenko are the kind I wanna see. If Chelios decides to call it a career, I wanna see a big/physical defenseman take his spot. Preferably Sheldon Souray, Chris Phillips or Cory Sarich. Not knowing what the cap will be next year makes it difficult to put salaries to each player we would sign. We have approx. $22.153M spent on 12 players next season. We could really be a solid team if we get one more big/physical forward and defenseman. Goaltending is going to be the only question mark.

Does this mean they are going to try to hook him up on a line with Zetterberg or just that was the only one left?
-
Is everyone, outside of the organization, pretty much giving up on this kid???
