    Jiri Hudler

Grigorenko is not a center. He will be playing RW/LW if/when he arrives in Detroit. As was mentioned...I would like him to replace Lang on the 2nd line if Lang decides not to re-sign or is not re-signed by the Wings in the offseason. Though, going from someone 6-3 to some one 5-9 on a line doesn't seem to thrilling. Especially since Filppula is making it so hard for us to make a case for sending him down. Eventually, we have to get back to having Zetterberg and Datsyuk on seperate lines. It levels the scoring out much more. Grigorenko - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi Samuelsson - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Hudler - Filppula - Kopecky Franzen - Draper - Cleary Sorry Maltby and Lang. Unless Lang has some really good chemistry with his new linemates, I do not think he will re-sign. He is a guy who would be a number one center on half the other teams. As for Maltby, I do not wanna miss out on Hudler's potential (or Kopecky's for that matter). It's time for the youth to come up and Maltby is replaceable now with Cleary/Franzen/Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Draper/Kopecky all being able to play on the PK.

    Here's to Williams

SO GLAD THIS TOOL IS GONE!!!!!!! NOW I CAN FINALLY WATCH A PP WITHOUT HOPING VERNON IS ON THE POINT INSTEAD OF J-WILL!!! Ok, Ok, in all seriousness, hope he does well there, but I am just relieved he is gone,

Rookies Unlikely to Play on Second Line

The Wings are what they are...

I'm sorry...but barring any amazing trade that no one on this site has come up with, I do not see the Wing's going to the SCF with the team they have or the team they could have with Guerin or Bertuzzi. We have a good shot if we got both somehow and Dom stays healthy, but getting them both has a 99.9% chance of not happening. Just wait until the offseason, see which prospects are going to have a chance to make the team and sign some UFA's. (Yes, I am throwing the towel on this season. I think it is wayyy smarter than throwing away the future on an old ass rental player)

Holland: Wings won't deal unless prices come down

Good for Holland. I like to see him playing hardball. No reason to throw away a 1st rounder and a prospect this season since the guys available at the deadline are not going to turn us into contenders. Even if we got both Guerin and Tkachuk, I still do not see us as Stanley Cup contenders. As for those of you who are bringing up the past off-season... Dumont was in talks with Holland during the offseason, but he was looking for more money than he was worth. Signing someone for $2.5 Million who does not address our toughness/grit issues is assanine. As for Guerin (God, I can't believe some people will not let this go!!!!) yes, we all know that we could've gotten him in the offseason. WE GET IT!!! The fact remains that he was looking for too much money after coming off a horrendous season in Dallas. Can you blame Kenny? It was too much of a risk, especially since we were still trying to get Shanahan signed. God. I can't wait until next season to see if Bertuzzi has a Guerin-type season next year and all you babies come back on this board saying "Oh my lord, look what we missed out on again....God Dammit Kenny." I can't even believe that some idiot even brought up Sykora. Don't even get me started on why in the hell we do not need that guy on our team... for Kenny.

    Hasek

Crymson and others... You have to admit that Hasek has been getting us in some hot s*** lately because he is "bored" and that it is getting pretty rediculous. I don't give a s*** who the goalie is, if he can't handle the puck well, one of the coaches should have the balls to tell him to stop handling it. Same goes for coming out of his net to try and be a 3rd defenseman. It is just completely inexcusable for the coaching staff not to say anythign to Dom just because he is who he is. that is complete bulls*** and everyone knows Scotty wouldn've had this under a lid when he did it against Phoenix a week or two back. Nor eason Babcock should not do the same.

    Anson Carter traded to Hurricanes

Sounds good to me. I wouldn't give up a 9th round pick for Anson carter. The last person I want in Motown is the most one-dimensional player to ever lace up the skates...not to mention he is in no way shape or form the type of player that we need in order to make this team a playoff contender.

The Shadow of the Winged Wheel

I will be sick if we form a rivalry with Nashville. This is the most forced rivalry ever and it's not even a good one...

    Holland backing down?

So you dont want Holland to trade for someone whose price is stupid but you're in favor getting Lapointe??? Great Logic...

1 Minute Penalty in OT coming?

Of all the problems with publicizing the game, marketing it to the youth in this country, problems with the national TV station, piss-poor attendence in many markets, 1 MINUTE OT PENALTIES IS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! HOW ******* STUPID CAN THE NHL BE???

    2/17 GDT: @ Phoenix Coyotes, 9:00pm

Anyone happen to catch Wayne's comments on the game??? Here it is: “Other than a few guys, we didn’t play hard the first two periods,” Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky said. “I don’t care who’s on the other side. Gordie Howe in a Red Wings uniform at the age of 72 might have made a goal in the first two periods. Nobody gave that effort, other than the goaltender and a few guys.” Hahaha...gotta love Wayne. It has to be frustrating as hell for him to be a coach of a team that is just completely the opposite of him in terms of talent. I'm still waiting for him to grab one of the sticks on the bench and go out there to score himself...
  14. Lang stays put at 2nd line center. He and Cleary have shown they have chemistry. Williams on the other hand blows dick. I have an idea. Maybe Babcock should hold a tryout for the Dads before they return home and see who can take over for Williams. Sounds like a plan to me...

    Should Detroit be Sellers?

Williams - WOULD LIKE NOTHING MORE THAN TO LOSE THIS ******!!! Lang - I know this guy isn't in our future plans but I really like Lang. He is a big body on the second line and can protect the puck just as good as anyone on out team. But if dealing him in order to make room for a Bertuzzi/Guerin or Fedoruk/Lapoint type player, than I am all for it. Schneider - Not gonna happen. To important to our PP and is too old to bring any value to any team who would be a seller at the deadline. Maltby - Never going to be traded. He is too important to our PK and Babcock and Holland both know it. I can see him not being re-signed during the offseason unless he takes a pay-cut. Chelios - DUMBEST. SUGGESTION. EVER!!!!! Datsyuk - Please. Can we stop with the "Trade Datsyuk" threads. Holland is not going to go into the playoffs without him even if he has sucked in them his whole career. Kenny has repeatedly said they are not shopping Datsyuk and will not. The only guys I see us trading are Williams, Lang, Hudler (sadly), and a few prospects.

    Forsberg trade close

Umm...how about this...HE'S WAITING UNTIL HE FINDS A DEAL THAT DOESNT MEAN TRADING AWAY THE WHOLE TEAM AND THE WHOLE FARM SYSTEM YOU MORON!!! (alright, venting over with)

    Forsberg trade close

People need to realize that Nashville needs to win NOW!!!! They do not have the luxury of being in a great hockey city like Detroit. There attendence blows and they know it. They are hoping Forsberg can hopefully fix this and lead them to a Cup. My thoughts: Too much for us to match. I will be the first one to call out Holland when I think he has screwed up, but I gotta give him a warm and fuzzy hug for this one. He made a good decision by not matching this trade with our youngsters. Hopefully this means we are looking at someone like Bertuzzi, Fedoruk, or Fedotenko and can find a home for Lang (even though I am not looking forward to losing Langer... )

Wings Goaltending After the Old MEn

Well Osgood has another year on his contract after this season so I expect Holland will go after another goalie during the off-season since it's obvious he doesn't feel comfortable with Ozzy as his starter. My hope is that Ozzy can handle the load with Howard as his backup. I do not believe many star-caliber goalies are going to be available this summer. The last thing I want this team to do is put all there cap-space into a goalie who is only going to be here for a max of 2 seasons. I expect Howard to be ready by then.

    Hasek - The 3rd Defenseman?

Now I know he has done it throughout his career...but why all of a sudden, out of nowhere, has he started skating so out of position and taking such gambles with the puck? I cant understand it. I hadn't seen him start coming out to challenge pucks until the last 5 or 6 games. Can someone please provide me with an explanation as to why he feels this is necessary? Dom is a great goalie 1-1. Why doesnt he just take the chance of a 1-1 instead of going after the puck out at the damn blue line?
  20. WhiteLightning91

    Hasek - The 3rd Defenseman?

I also have seen Dom do this throughout his whole career. I'm just wondering why all of a sudden has he started doing it the last 5 or 6 games this season. He went the whole first half of the season without doing it, except for I think the NJ game, and he has been pretty damn good. So why all of a sudden start taking all the risks? I don't know. Can't really tell someone what to do when they have that mnuch hardware...

    Holland "eyeing" four players

I've never really seen Doan do anything gritty, He is a big scoring winger. Not a tough physical gritty one. Anyway, doesn't matter he won't be going anywhere...

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

Someone wanna enlighten me as to why we would want another center in Forsberg???

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

What other cheap shotting cowards big, tough, physical, scoring wingers do they have?

I would rather see one of them porno links in this thread than this...

    Hasek - The 3rd Defenseman?

Well his puck handling is just as horrendous, but I'm talking about him challenging by diving for breakaways.
