Wish all you want...Shane Doan ain't happening. Nagy and Gagne are not what this team needs. Roberts, Guerin and Tkatchuk are going to be as effective as Wendle Clark was to this team. Forsberg, Sundin, and Jokinen are all centers. WE DONT NEED ANYMORE CENTERS!!! Bertuzzi and Nolan are the only 2 guys I am in favor of getting...unless someone else can inform me of another big, physical, scoring winger who is hungry for a chance at the Cup.

Why on earth would we trade for ANOTHER center? This is the same reason I do not see us getting Forsberg.

I don't think that Holland & Co. are shooting for success throughout just the first 2 rounds. I like the idea of aquiring someone like the three you mentioned above, but we still need to counter that aquisition with a PURE goalscorer. I just do not see one out there who is available and isn't being looked at by every other team. Guerin and Tkatchuk are not the guys to fill that role. I will be sick to my stomach if they pick up either of those 2 farts.

Did any of you guys actually watch the game? Im not surprised it got a 0.7 rating. It is soooooooooooooooooooooo boring. I don't get it. Even when it was on ESPN, the ASG is the most pointless thing the NHL does. Yea, there are a couple of cool looking goals, but there is absolutley ZERO action whatsoever going on. No one hits, which I understand, no one wants to get hurt, but why are people watching then? I fell asleep during the 2nd period of the game. Its pretty much a man-loving fest out there so why would anyone wanna tune in? I don't care what network it is on; they have to do something to the ASG to make it worth watching. Getting to watch 20 goals scored in a game is not enough.

Why the hell is Abdelkader wasting his time in the ***** CCHA? Get this kid in the OHL or AHL. He could be playing in 25-30 games more in the OHL and almost 40 more in the AHL. Get this kids head out of his ass and put him in a league that will help his development.

Not according to Helen St. James' logic Anyway. I think most of you need to stop looking at the cliche Maltby, Williams, Lilja, Lang shindig and start looking at someone who actually may be able to get you the big powerful scoring winger we so desperately need... Grigorenko + 1st Rounder is the starting point for any GM willing to deal with us... Now is there anyone out there who I believe is enough to give us the type of Shanny-esque push we need this year...I do not believe so. Unless Holland & Co. pull a deal that none of us are thinking of, I feel we should wait until the off-season to find the big, powerful, scoring winger that we must possess in order to be successful. We won't have to give anything because they will be a UFA and we can also keep Grigs, whom I am not ready to let go of yet.

How ironic would it be if Datsyuk sucks during the regular season but somehow becomes some playoff god this year? (of course we need to make the playoffs for that to happen) Tkatchuk??? Are you serious??? Hell No!!! There are others out there much younger. Tkatchuk has just always seemed to me to be one of the most overrated players in the NHL, along with Doug Weight.

As of right now, I have to go with Ovechkin. He has Zubrus setting him up, not Crosby. Plus, we already know Ovechkin can put up the points. Malkin has started out on a tear, but we still dont know if he will continue the pace.

Those 97 and 98 teams had a lot more skill, leadership, and hall-of-famers on them than this team does. Goaltenders were able to make up for there size with biggerpadding also then.

You can already see the need for a scorer on the powerplay. That is the main thing we should be focusing on throughout the year; trying to find a decent winger.

Larsson is too small right now to come over to NA. RWC has him at 6'0 170. Which probably means in reality he is around 5'11 and 165. Bottom Line: He needs to put on about 25-30 pounds in the next couple seasons and needs to proove he can be the starter for Djurgården.

The main reason I am upset we didn't get Latendresse is that he is a big, powerfull winger that was going to be ready to play in the NHL soon after he was drafted. I am not saying that Kindl is a bad prospect. He is a big D-man and we need that. But the thing is that he is a couple years away still from being able to make the team, not because of skill, but because of where he is on the depth chart. As far as Johan goes, I am pretty exccited and anxious to see this kid play. I do not know where you get that he is any stronger than Latendresse. I believe he will turn into our power forward playing wing on Zetterberg's line. (I'm getting giddy just thinking about those 2 playing together ). Latendresse is a big tough winger, which happens to be the biggest need for this team ever since 2002. Shanny leaving made things even worse. When Latendresse was in the draft, back in 2005,we all knew Shanny was not going to be around with the Wings for many more seasons. I personally thought it was going to be retirement, not FA through which we would lose him. But management should've planned for finding a replacement for Shanahan then and not waited for it to happen. Kopecky is the only big RW/LW in our system who is ready to go, I would like 20 more pounds on him though. Grigorienko is ready to, but I still do not know what my feelings are about him since he has yet to play NA style hockey and is not very tall. Bottom line: Latendresse would solve our problem for needing a scoring winger better than Williams, Kopecky or Smauelsson this season.

HockeyCrazy, What is wrong with you? Hartnell would be great for this team. Imagine this: Hartnell - Datsyuk - Franzen Hartnell put up 25 goals last year. Think about what he could do taking set-ups from Datsyuk.
