Has anyone watched any Carolina games this playoff? They have been far from boring... f*** the ratings. The NHL still has Pitt/Wash moving to the conference final and those are the two most marketable teams in the league.

Holmstrom's elbow was definitely dirty and deserved to be penalized. I can't comment on the spear as I didn't notice anything. You are right that the shot caused the damage to Wisniesky. However, getting elbowed in the face after not being able to breathe probably doesn't do any good.

It's really interesting reading all the optimism when Hossa first signed here. I think he has definitely been a good addition to the team and I hope that he can elevate his game right now because this is when we need his impact most.

Sure there is, when the ref can't see the puck the indication is that the puck is frozen. This is how goalies are protected. If this rule was not in place there would be a lot of injuries from bodies crashing the net and jabbing their sticks into goalie pads and gloves. I know that this was a s***ty thing to happen and was a "bad call" but we need to realize that we did not deserve to win game 3 and prepare for tonight and play like we did in the last 25 minutes of game 3 to win game 4.

Joe Thornton is the most under performing player in the playoffs by far. I agree with most points in the OP but there is no way that Boston got the better deal in that trade.... not even close.
