WHAT?!?! You're telling me I had a chance to get a Red Wings jersey with my name on it and I totally missed it??? When did Wendel play in Detroit, also what about Walz? I must have blocked 99 out of my memory What?!?!? When???? Hmmmmm, 99 seems like it was a bad year for a Wings fan. Really? Ugh, Graves, miss I hadn't known that....... I got McCrimmon's autograph after he retired wearing Red Wings gear not knowing he was a Red Wings player until he told me.... oops! (I told him I remember him being captain of the Flames) Wouldn't of minded seeing this guy as a Red Wing Is this the guy from the Preds? When and for how long? Man I loved this guy when I first saw him in Toronto, he was my favorite goalie because I thought his name was cool and he was so short..... definitely don't remember him as a Wing but I was pretty young.

First game that I can remember this season where I can say goaltending was the difference tonight!!!! Unfortunately, it wasn't the difference that I would normally want to see -

Fixed that for you. Guys, if you do not want to lose credibility in your posts please don't post FACT: ......... and follow it with something that clearly is not a fact. -

Fact: Chris Osgood is a man Fact: Chris Osgood let in 2 goals tonight so far Fact: The Red Wings are winning Fact: The Red Wings are playing in Detroit tonight See I am not the only one who can use the word fact and that post useless things after to try and prove a point. By the way I think these are the only facts that we have seen on this board so far (all the other ones have measures of subjectivity in them) -

I swear to god that if I was in a coma for 6 months and just woke up today to watch this game that I would have no doubt in my mind that these two teams were last in the NHL and that Legace and Osgood were call-ups from a Midget A team. -
Well, starting Conklin didn't work tonight, hopefully he starts next game to see what he does.

Osgood proves he doesn't deserve No. 1 spot

Conklin just got lucky that's all -
We definitely do not need a blowout loss. TBH I don't know what that accoplishes other than lowering team confidence. I say run with Conklin for a while and see how the team responds. This is simply not a goalie solution (although it is partly) but seeing how the team plays with a different guy in between the pipes, people say it doesn't matter but that is the most important position on the team and is the main reason (most likely) why Osgood got pulled last night.

I hate the constant goalie threads around because they are usually created with reason and just wish Osgood would return back to his playoff form. Luckily we have Conklin who has shown that he is capable of filling in quite nicely last year in Pittsburgh and this year in Detroit. I hope we turn him into #1 sooner rather than later, if he faults hopefully Osgood can pull off what he did last April. -

Sigh........ Osgood........... this is getting old quick -
I like this! We should revive the thread that was started about 3-4 weeks about the fourth line.

I think that's a little optimistic myself, these next couple years will be really hard in North America, the Canadian teams make up a huge dispropotion of league revenues and they are behind the US in their recession. Canada is going to get hit here within the next year so we will see how that affects league revenues. Anyway, I don't think we should get into an economics discussion on a hockey board (I majored in economics in University, if I wanted to debate it I would do it at school
-
I guess that's why I'm not too fond of this deal then (more so mixed emotions) as it could be a bad signing in about 7 years which would leave 5 years for it to play out I know!! That bastard!
-
Yup, please see a guy like Ryan Smyth who loved playing in Edmonton and had big time emotional ties and still decided to leave. IMO Hossa will not even be close to the same negotiating that Smyth had.
-
There is no way Hossa takes 6 million a year. Although Hossa is the better player, I believe that Franzen fits better into Detroit's lineup and would rather see us go that way at around 4 million or so (not any more than that)

This Edit: Actually, maybe giving it to the loser of the cup final would be a good idea
