    Cherepanov took steroids as well...

I think this raises the question of how prominent steroids are in hockey.

    World Junior Championship

The US did not look good at all...... Meanwhile Sweden looked a little better against Latvia. I hate these prelim games, no competition until the medal rounds.

LOL check out this GEM of a Topic....

Why can't that team be a dynasty in a few years? Yes it is very wishful thinking from a team that hasn't made the playoffs forever, but man do they have a very well rounded team stacked with young talent.

Teams we have been losing to...

We like to give these teams leads and then try and come back in the third. It's really starting to piss me off how many times we are entering the third period down a couple lately.

    World Junior Championship

Great post Tane, I agree 100% with your sentiment. One of the main reasons I watch the tournament is to see guys like Tavares and maybe some guy from Latvia or Germany who sometimes wow you (remember the goalie from Belarus in the olympics?).

    Any Word on Lidstrom?

Well, hopefully it isn't serious, he's a pretty important part of our team

    World Junior Championship

I agree the Olympics is a far better tournament but it is very exciting to see the talent that will some day be the cream of the crop in the NHL as well. As for the Olympics in 2010 I think that it will be between the Russians and the Canadians. Obviously the Canadians will have a huge advantage with it being in Vancouver but the Russians have some very sick talent up front with Malkin, Ovechkin, and Semin being lights out this year (not to mention our boy Datsyuk). I think that Sweden will have a very hard time repeating with a lot of their core team aging by that time (think Sundin, Naslund, Lidstrom).

    red wings student rush

Man, with these prices I am almost tempted to fly to Detroit to watch a game

    Bahstin

Wow, I disagree completely. They are scoring 8 goals a game it seems and Thomas is making ridiculous saves. You also have guys like Lucic running around hitting people and fighting. What is boring about their team?

    Good Lord Chicago

I think that the Hawks are a great team this year, but I can't see them do much of anything in the playoffs.

    Bahstin

If you have watched many Boston games you would have to be impressed with their play. They seem to score at will right now and Thomas is playing unreal in goal. They are leading the league in scoring and GAA I think. How can you argue with those numbers. The real question is can they keep up their play. I for one don't think they can as most of their players are big time overachieving.

Screenshot of Conklin's winter classic pads?

Those are sweet.... Also, I am really looking forward to this game, I used to hate watching the Wings hammer on the Hawks but now they are actually good and fun to watch. I hope that Toews doesn't score a goal like he did last game though.

Food for thought: Interesting Statistics that speak volumes

I used to be on the we need an enforcer bandwagon when we were getting eliminated in the first and second rounds for quite a few years there (also, because guys like Datsyuk would completely disappear in the playoffs). However, I think that a lot of our guys have gotten a lot grittier than they were 3-5 years ago. I don't ever remember Datsyuk hitting and now I see him mixing it up a lot, so in that respect I am happy. I would like to add from an entertainment standpoint I would love to see DMac in the lineup every night.

What do you do with a struggling goaltender?

It's tough to say because Conklin hasn't been much better and we don't have a viable trade option so it's a really sticky situation. The best thing is that it is December.... so it's not a huge worry yet.

    Bridgestone Greatest Captain (Part 2)

No way Lidstrom should've won for 2000s, hopefully Yzerman will take this. Man they should've done final four style instead. I mean the 90s were stacked.

Melrose Hopes Tampa Doesn’t Win Another Game This Year

Barry Melrose is an idiot but what did those two clowns expect by bringing in a guy who hasn't coached in over ten years.

    We need a goalie!

OK, I give up..... these threads are stupid. Nothing is ever going to get accomplished because we all have biases to Red Wings players because we are Red Wings fans. What we need to do is ask people who cheer for other teams and ask them what they think after watching Red Wings games. P.S. For those of you that are using Conklin as an excuse to deflect criticism on Osgood should note that Osgood is far from a #1 goalie. He had a good stretch with Pittsburgh, but he was horrible before that especially with Edmonton.
