I mean it obviously sucks to lose to the Leafs. I have very high expectations of this team this year and expect them to dominate and roll over teams, they certainly did not do that last night. New lines look like they need some time to adapt for sure. But hey, we're going to lose more than one game this year to a s***ty team so I'm not too worried about it.

My god Avery is right, the NHL does suck at marketing..... why the f*** isn't this done on like a Saturday...... have the European games during the day..... have a hockey day in Canada theme for CBC and have afternoon games on NBC and have triple-headers on all networks and have all 30 teams start the year off playing.

I definately think some toughness would've helped Detroit a few years ago. Datsyuk was invisible and our top talent looked like they were having trouble penetrating the zone. I for one called for some more grit. I definately think we had that last year, however, I don't think it is directly due to an enforcer.... but having guys like DMac, Drake, Downey, Kronner definately helped us physically. Also, I think guys like Dats & Z toughened up BIG TIME in the last few years and have been better able to handle the physical play. My $.02

CBC does it better than anyone else (in terms of game production)
