Can't wait

I don't understand why some people are against implementing a small change that would reduce the chances of injuries. It is not like this is going to be a dramatic change that is going to alter the game. Someone should put a video together of icing situations so that we can have visual evidence to back up this debate.

I just think that some people here are overhyping the excitement that comes with icings.

Meh, to me he was a disappointment, I expected him to be better, I realize that there were a lot of doubters about him and such but I always thought that if in the right system he could be a good player. He did have good years in the AHL and I realize that is a lot different but I was disappointed that he wasn't able to become an NHL regular like I thought he would. Also, often times that there are players who develop after they are drafted and do not necessarily have the same expectations as they did in their draft year. Also, please note that it is my opinion and do not expect you to change your stance as he was a 7th rounder.

St. Louis Blues: Once a powerful force in hockey and a run of 20+ years of making the post-season, the salary cap has definitely not been your friend. You have seen the likes of Pronger, Weight, and Tkatchuck all leave St. Louis (often they came back)which has probably been a good thing. You guys aren't horrible like you were last season, you have some prospects in Stempniak, Backes, Boyes, etc. You also have a guy in Paul Kariya who can make a big play and make others around him better. If you can keep your team together, you should back in the post-season within the next few years and please for the love of god I hope this is true because I am sick of hearing that the Central division is the worst division in hockey and the lack of respect that the Wings get for ALWAYS finishing first without much of a challenge but make sure that you don't beat us as much as you did this year. -
Like both of those picks but I wouldn't give Babcock the Jack Adams. I think that a lot of the writers don't have a clue either most years but that's what makes them interesting I guess is the differences in opinions on different players/coaches/teams.

It's also because he was 5'9 and there was a big question around his size and as someone else showed, Z was also a 7th round choice. I just saw his speed and thought that it could be used to such an advantage if he had really good skills.

Some great fights posted here

I just hate Roy so much that I can't stand his family so I automatically hate Jonathon

I would like to throw Brandon Reid into the ring. The guy had so much speed and was really good in the AHL but had trouble cracking the Canucks line up. Every time I saw him play in the show he looked so fast and that he could have so much potential. Unfortunately his size didn't help things for him.

New York Islanders: Over the past twenty years, whenever I hear the team "New York Islanders" I think mediocrity. You would think that a team would be able to be good over two decades but unfortunately the Islanders have had their share of misfortunes. The problem has traditionally stemmed from some VERY questionable moves in the front office that have led to the demise of the Isles. When you look at the team this year there is much little to be excited about, where is that player on your team that you can count on for that big play? The game tying or winning goal? Bill Guerin? I mean ya, ten years ago maybe but this year the team just seems very mediocre and looks like there is nothing really to get excited about. Hunter has been somewhat of a bust and there are no young prospects who are very exciting (at least). Your latest brilliant move was the signing of young goaltender Rick Dipietro who just had season-ending surgery, time will tell if the front office made another huge gamble that didn't pay off. Coming soon.......... St. Louis Blues -
I hope this causes them to lose the series.

Jesse Wallin Was a local boy and I followed his junior career very closely and his WJC performances. Captained Canada to their 5th straight gold medal in the 90s and was drafted in the first round by who........... THE DETROIT RED WINGS!!! Unfortunately having the depth the Wings did and some setbacks due to injuries he hardly had a career to speak of.

f*** anyone related to this family.
-
Really? Are you 100% positive on this? That's a pretty bold statement to make (hence why I bolded it) unless you work for the NHL in this department to say that the refs turn a blind eye to penalizing players for hits on icing.
-
Wow, I want to read that part of the book
-
Awesome to see the Roy family suspended for a total of 12 playoff games

Because of the bulls*** reffing that has happened in the NHL this year. Just because it is not called does not equate to the fact that it should be called. It's almost like saying Brett Hull's Stanley Cup winning goal was a legal play when we know for a fact that it is not. A hit on an icing should result in the following penalties: Interference Boarding Kneeing Cross-checking I have never seen a body check that would be considered legal on an icing EVER in my life. Let me clarify that there is a difference between going hard and fighting for the puck and an actual body contact (i.e. If there is a little contact and a player loses an edge).

I agree 100% with eva on this issue.
-
Some nice fights, I love the Domi/Probert fights
-
Eva makes a good point, the defensive player can make a check after contact but not the offensive player.
-
I don't really get it. 9 times out of 10 we are going to see a stoppage anyways with the current rule, this is something I wouldn't mind seeing as it keeps more time on the clock for the offensive players. I would hate to see someone like a Kronwall having a career ending injury to create excitement.

Man I used to love those old school Nike hockey videos with the goaltenders

What a horrible family.
