The playoffs will have a huge impact on what decisions need to be made in the offseason
-
I agree with your assessment on Dallas, however, I'm not too fond on our chances going into the playoffs until today when we added come grit
-
Hudler would be great trade bait in the summer.
-
Dalls got a lot stronger IMO however, Turco is just like Legace and Cujo in the playoffs.
-
I'm pretty sure Ken Daniels is wrong on that one, I've never seen a team carry like 40 players.

The best part of this deal is the CONDITIONAL draft picks involved. Even if Bertuzzi does s*** this year, the deal is better for the Wings from a draft pick perspective.

Bertuzzi hit on Chelios in 2002 Playoffs

I remember that being one hell of a battle back in the 02 playoffs. -
Why do Blues fans hate the Redwings so much?

It must be hard being jealous all the time -
I love reading threads like these considering everything that has happened so far today.

I just hope that he gets a solid week's worth of playing time before the playoffs.

the official "I am sorry for doubting you Mr. Holland thread"
Never_Retire_Steve replied to brutus's topic in General
Well, it's been 3 years in the making but I am finally happy after the trade deadline. I'm glad to see that Holland finally addressed our need. However, I will reserve judgement of any kind because all that really matters to me is how we do in the playoffs. -
Wow, it's going to be really weird seeing anything other than a Oilers jersey on Ryan Smyth.

The reason I slotted Bertuzzi with Datsyuk and Zetterberg is because the two young guys obviously play way better together and I'm thinking back to when Bertuzzi was with Vancouver he did a really good job of creating space for Naslund and Morrisson. Of course, that was the best line in hockey back then so I think that this would be similar with him and the two young guys. Besides, Datsyuk has had a tendency to disappear in the playoffs and I'm hoping that Bertuzzi's presence will help alleviate Datsyuk's less than par playoff performances.

I do feel like getting drunk! :beerbuddy:
-
Datsyuk - Zetterberg- Bertuzzi Calder - Lang - Sammy Cleary - Flip - Homer Franzen - Draper - Maltby
-
Ya, I don't really see this as a very big issue, wait until the offseason when we have more contract situations cleared up.

YES!!!!!! :beerbuddy: :judge:

If I were Roberts, I'd hold out to go to Toronto or Ottawa.
-
Roenick does seem to elevate his play when there is something to play for. Does anyone remember the playoff series against the Leafs and the battles he had with those guys, especially Tucker.
-
I wouldn't want either one but who would want Lilja anyways?

Zetterberg out until Friday (Back Spasms)

Calder will exceed expectations, even more than what Cory Cross did last year. -
Hmmm, good point, I guess he only adds ugliness then
-
Bertuzzi is set to return any day isn't he? I really don't think it would take much at all to get Bertuzzi, especially considering the fact that it took Luongo to get him last year.
-
Maybe Roberts feels that Pittsburgh isn't a legitimate contender, in all honesty I'd have to agree with him.
-
I agree with that, except that this is an even better gamble in my opinion because although we took Dom on a gamble as well, a starting goalie is a lot more valuable than a forward. Just look at what happened to Ottawa last year. I'm not saying that Hasek being out cost Ottawa their season but it sure didn't help the way he played before he got injured.
