Where is the pic? Until we see proof, we don't believe you.....LOL

And you admit to this on an open forum? Can you post the link for abbreviating the Aves?

Hometown discount?!?!?! Wanted to play for a winner.

When will professional atheletes begin to feel the economic pinch....

The Big 3 is NOT getting bailed out. They are getting a LOAN. The banks got the bail out. That is not paid back. What I don't understand is why a service that pays VERY little in interest, charges exorbitant (sp?) fees can lose money and need federal help. -
Great Post!!

I just checked out Brodeur's career stats and he has rarely lost less than 20 games a season. Something Ozzie has only done 4 times in his career (2 of the with the Blues and Isles). Does that make Brodeur a bad goalie with all those losses. I mean, based on your calculations, the S% and GAA is how you win games.
-
Last I checked, that is how the game is won. Not on what goalie has the bext GAA or S%.

Show me where he "rarely has a save percentage in the 90s".... 1993-94 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.895 1994-95 Adirondack Red Wings AHL 0.908 1994-95 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.917 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.911 1996-97 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.910 1997-98 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.913 1998-99 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.910 1999-00 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.907 2000-01 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.903 2001-02 New York Islanders NHL 0.910 2002-03 New York Islanders NHL 0.894 2002-03 St. Louis Blues NHL 0.888 2003-04 St. Louis Blues NHL 0.910 2005-06 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.897 2005-06 Grand Rapids Griffins AHL 0.882 2006-07 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.907 2007-08 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.914 2008-09 Detroit Red Wings NHL 0.876 Looks like the years he had his S% below was 93-94, 02-03, 05-06 and 08-09. In 93-94 his record was 23-8-5, 02-03 he was 21-17-6, 05-06 he was 20-6-5 and 08-09 he is 11-1-4. In his 4 worst seasons on S% his record is 75-32-20. Even when his S% is below .900, his record is STILL amazing. Take out the 02-03 season when he played for the Blues & Isles he is 54-15-14 which equates to 83 games (full season) and have 122 points. If you look at 3 of the seasons, he was within .007 of the .900 (not counting AHL stats). Point is, Ozzie STILL wins when he is letting in goals. He hasn't lost in regulation since Oct 9th. I will take all the 6-5 games as long as we have the 6. Get facts straight before posting. Ozzie is one of the greatest goalies in Wings history. I would say top 5.

It is only a matter of time before his mom and dad petition the league to abolish hitting. He seems to be the player that gets knocked on his ass and then kick you. What a puss!

So, who do we send down when Chelli returns? Meech? Kopecky? I say send them down (or trade) and bring in Helm.
-
How many points dows he have since the "hot streak" started last season? Didn't they say he has 39 goals in his last 50 games (incl playoffs)? That is a 64 goal season pace. He is a monster and would be a bargain (or steal) if he takes the hometown discount of $3M or less.

I hope to keep Hudler and Sammy as both are having pretty good years and hope they can keep it up next year. Hudler is still young while Sammy is aging. But, how many times do draft picks (esp 1st & 2nd rounders) pan out into something exciting? In this case, I would keep Hudler.

Getting in or not is not based on 20 games in any one season.

So, just by that statement, Martin Broduer should not get into the HHOF. His stats for the year? Or career? At his current winning percentage (.548), he will have 89 more wins than Glenn Hall, just behind Broduer (where he is now), and 12 ahead of Roy. He should move into the top 10 all time by the end of the year barring injury or a crappy year. And why not? Isn't that what gets you into the HHOF? His win percentage, cup rings and even his GAA is comparable to Broduer's. He may give a 1/4 per game more than Broduer, Broduer played on a team that relied on "D" more than scoring goals. Ozzie belongs in the HHOF due to his career stats. Who cares if he played on good teams. So did Gretzky, Kurri, Howe, Lindsey, Messier and the list goes on.
-
Actually I think he stole the game last night. He made 3 or 4 great saves that could have cost the game had they gone in. I agree he hasn't been anywhere near last year's play, but the "D" hasn't played all that great and how many goals have been scored that deflect off a Wing's D-man and into the goal? Turco is only 3 years younger (actually 2 3/4) than Ozzie and 3 years isn't that much of a difference when you are talking mid 30s.

What part of Macomb County? I watched it on 901 in Fraser.

I am surprised no one mentioned the one that gave the Wings a goal against the Ducks a few years ago. There wasa delayed penalty on the Wings and a Duck player was at by the side of the net and passed the puck to the blueline and missed everyone and went into the empty net. Wings score and the penalty is nullified. AWESOME!

Reminds me of the baseball ASG. And BTW, footballs ASG festivities and the game itself is a joke.

I just checked it out and Lids leads...... When I 1st saw the header, I thought Sakic lead Yzerman......

Granted the officials can't call "everything", but why wasn't there a problem when there was only 1 ref for each game? There are 2 sets of eyes to watch infractions and it seems to get worse every year. I will give 3 examples, the goal off the net against the Ducks (or was it Sharks?) last year. The goal that was knocked in with a high stick a few games back. The goal that was knocked in with a kicking motion against the Bolts. Also, in the 1st 14 games, the Wings had to fight off 12 5-3 disadvantages. They allowed 6 goals. Look at how many times the Wings have been held in the same fashion they have held and gotten penalties.= (and no penalty called). A team with the puck possession skills as the Wings should have more than 4 PP chances per game if they are averaging 5 penalty calls per game. How many times has Ozzie (or Ty) been interfered with and a goal is scored? The other night Ty couldn't move his stick to make the save. If it was Homer, 2 mins and goal disallowed. The last few games the Wings have been called for fewer and fewer penalties due to that they now know what is called and what isn't. Once the "D" performs as expected, they will be rolling. Don't forget, a 1 goal win gets you 2 points just as a 10 - 0 score does and goal differential doesn't count towards anything (unless all tie breakers are exhausted but unsure of this). GO WINGS!!

If Hossa keeps up the scoring like he has so far, he wil win the MVP. So far he has been unstoppable. Has 3 or 4 2-goal games. As far as next season goes, no one will make more than Lidstrom. I think Hossa and Z will take 7 mil each and Franzen will get 3 or 4. That being said, I think (and sad to say) that DMac, Draper, Maltby, Sammy, Lilja, Kopecky, Lebda and Chelli are gone. That will free up quite a bit of cap space and with the young guys in Grand Rapids moving up and not making the big bucks, we will be fine.
-
The rule that has been in effect for the last 3 or 4 years is ANYONE can enter the crease and bump the goalie and nothing gets called. On the other hand if your name begins with Tom and ends with strom you can't fart in the direction of the goalie within 4 or 5 feet.

Does anyone remember the Chicago game a few years ago that the Wings were up like 4-0 or 5-0 entering the 3rd period and LOST in OT?
-
I agree the Wings have not played their best hockey yet this season. Imagine where they would be at if they have been playing their best. Also, how many bad bounce goals have they had this year already? I have counted (from memory) AT LEAST 8 or 9. It is either a bad bounce off the boards or a deflection of a defenseman's skate.

If he keeps up his pace as he has been doing he might be a leading Hart Trophy candidate.
