If he retired today, his record the last 3+ years is 50-11-13. That is 113 points with 8 games left. Pretty damn remarkable to play that good over that length of time. He seems to be getting better with age. So what if he gave up 5 goals the other night. I would say 1 bad game in 25 is pretty good.

If that is the case, then Broduer should be in the HOF. He played behind the D of the Devil for his career and we know what we think of that.

I was just flipping thru my cable guide and just found out I now have it. In flipping thru the weekend before I go to work, I found out on Sunday there is a 1 hour show call "Raised to the Rafters : Steve Yzerman". Just thought I would bring it up as I haven't found any mention of it on these boards.

Well, it isn't on as they are NOW showing the outdoor game from last week. As of now, it is scheduled for next Friday. Also this Tuesday, there is a show about the one of the Wings / Aves series.
-
If I read it right, the Wings set a record for earliest to 30 wins. besting their record of 29 wins set in '95-'96.
-
I just can't believe that out of their 11 total losses, 9 came from within the division. If they would have only won 4 of those, they would be sitting at 71 points and be sitting VERY PRETTY.

I just happened to glance at the standings, I do it maybe once a week or so. Even for as crappy as they have played in their division (6-6-2) and their record against the rest of the league is obviously 23-1-1. If they would have "dominated" in the division as they were expected to, they might have clinched the division by late Jan / early Feb if they kept up at their pace. It would be nice to see them challenge for the best record all-time AND win the cup. Hopefully the Pistons and Tigers win their respective titles.....

Quick question, in the 3 goals that were disallowed due to "interference", how many of those games did the Wings lose?
-
Who was the goalie that scored a goal while the other goalie was in net? I think it was Hextall, but not sure. I am surprised that clip wasn't in there.
-
The Wings would not have choked against the likes of the 'Hawks and Jackets. As of now they have a 9 point lead over 2nd in the conference and a 15 point lead over 2nd in the division. Just imagine if they won just 1/2 of their divisional games so far. Having a great season so far and hope I see them raising "The Cup" in June.

Imagine if we didn't have people making smart ass posts. Message boards may only be 20% of what they are.

The Wings are 2-3-1 vs the division and 11-1 against rest of league, plus the division is all over .500.
-
Does anyone remember the Wings - Hawks game a few years back that the Wings were up 5-0 going into the 3rd and lost 6-5 in OT? This was like 6 or 7 years ago.
-
Everyone was saying the same thing LAST year when the Duck went something like 20-2-2 in the 1st 2 months. They barely won their division over DAL and SJ. My guess is they will finish with about 48-53 wins. The Wings about 51-56 yet again. The play in the weak Central Division, right?

I would say "why break what isn't broken?". I haven't seen but the opener (on VS), but if he has the stats he does. Playing the way I have been hearing. Keep him in net and let him go until he loses what he has going for him. Give Dom a rest until then and he will be ready for "the 2nd season". I can't wait to see the game against the Blues in 2 weeks.

I am seeing the scores and besides the 2 games again CHI, the Wings look like they are even more dominant than they have in any of their "great years". I have only seen 1 game (ANA opening night) and don't have center ice. So how have they been looking? Afterall, an 8-2-1 record is pretty damn awesome. Am I hallucinating but do the Wings have more fighting majors in 11 games than they did in all 82 last year? I live in PA and am coming back for the weekend of T-giving and a friend of mine got tix for the Blues game. I can't wait as I haven't been able to go to a Wings game in about 10 years. Can't wait until April as I am moving back to MI and playoffs start!! Do they look as good as their record indicates? THANKS!!

It hink the league should change the rule about goalies. You stay in the crease but if you leave it, you can get knocked on your ass. If the goalie is out of the crease and a player comes into contact with him, HE should get the interference penalty. This would increase scoring!!

I have tried quite a few times on the "watch it live" on Yahoo, yet never has worked for me.
-
If the losing goalie gets "credit" for allowing the goal that loses in the shootoout, why doesn't Dom have 8 goals allowed (has 7)? They have "allowed" 8 as a team due to the SO loss against CHI. Maybe I should have read the rest of the posts!!

For reasons like this, he will NEVER be a coach in the NHL.
-
What about when all ESPN showed were Penguins games? Everytime I turned the hockey game on there was Mario and Jaromir.
-
Did anyone notice that from Mar 1 to the end of the season, the Wings play only teams in their division? Except for the 1 game against the Stars.
-
I would say Washington Crapitals Florida Panthers Phoenix Coyotes LA Kings The Rockies never won the cup while in Colorado. NJ, Yes, CO, No

Thinks the 1st and 3rd goals the Ducks scored were boarderline goalie interference? Neidermeyer had his foot in between Dom's legs as he was on the ice and then the Duck player was laying on top of him on the 3rd goal. Not whining or making excuses, after all, they were outplayed the 1st 2 periods, but am I the only one that thinks this? Bye Bye to..... Lang --- Never lived up to hype since the trade Dom --- Need younger goalie, can use as a backup Calder --- Started strong then stunk up the joint Maltby --- Yeah he re-signed, but time for a change Ozzie --- *see Dom Hello to..... Drury or Briere Kozlov (for year or 2) Rafalski (then let Schneider go) Peca
