Obviously you didn't hear Ed Ols*** say that Franzen was hit by his own stick because Campbell (??) wanted to play helicopter with someone else's stick.....LOL
-
One way to eliminate this problem is to allow kick ins.....That way, there is NO QUESTION!! Hey, if they can do "Fox Trax", why can't they put some kind of radio chip in the puck and the crossbar and when the puck goes over the line, the red light goes off and a goal is awarded. This would even help on pucks you can't see because it is under the goalie's equipment.

He kicked the puck backwards just as much as Kronwall knocked Havlat on his ass after leaving his feet!! Clean hit, suspended, BULLs***!!
-
They handled the Ducks fairly easily as well. Outscoring them something like 13-4 and took the series 3-1 and the 1 loss was the OT penalty shot winner (if memory is correct!)!

Goalie interference?? Boarding?? THE OFFICIATING IS A ******* JOKE!! Not to mention the crosscheck to the back of Helm's head which if it was Bert, it would have been 5 mins. Zetterberg drug down to the ice. Howie getting interfered with and no call. I like them getting physical!!
-
Consistent calls is ALL we ask for. Goalie interference is goalie interference. It isn't when Home is perched at the top of the crease and the GOALIE pushes him and the goal is disallowed. It's when a player is LAYING ON TOP OF THE GOALIE after he bumps him. The last 3 Wings games the goalie has been hit MUCH worse than Homer's ass does when it is in the goalie's face. I won't even get into the ticky-tack bulls*** calls that come up one way and not the other. WE WANT CONSISTENCY!! To the guy who is (or was) a ref. I understand calls get missed and they can't see everything but with 4 sets of eyes, how can they miss some of the penalties? Remember when the Wings lost to the Ducks a few years back when the GWG was scored AFTER the puck hit the netting. If I am not mistaken, didn't that ONE GAME cost the Wings a #1 seed (or was it #1 overall, I am not 100% sure on this)?

They looked somewhat clean to me. No hit to the head and the player getting hit, saw it coming. Sort of like the "clean hits" Homer puts on the opposing goalie, yet, the Wings goalie gets laid on top of or hit, and nothing gets called.
-
You forgot my favorite Mickey quote..... It goes something like this..... "He made a move and left <insert defender's name here> jock on the scoreboard!"
-
Why since the ASG? They are 13-7-2 which roughly is nearly 50 wins and over 100 points.
-
They have done it 10 straight years and working on #11 and SHOULD get there pretty soon.
-
I am sure I am not alone and do not understand what you are saying. I am sure during the "Dead Wings" era they had more than 11 losses at the start of any month from Dec-Apr.
-
He may not be a 1st ballot HOFer, but he should get in within 3 years. If he would have been the starter the last 2 years he could have nearly 450 W's. His number should be in the rafters as well!!

I like this guy's (John Craighead) stats for PIM. Had 285 PIM in 44 games. Went to a lot of Viper games and the only games he didn't get into a fight were the games he either didn't play or was suspended.
-
The Wings are 33-7-4 for a win % of .795!! Pretty damn good if you ask me!!
-
Yes they have and hope they keep it up!!
-
At the rate they have since the Olympics, they would have 130 points over 82 games. 61-13-8
-
The decade of "the 2000s" is 2001 thru 2011. The 1st day of the new millennium was Jan. 1, 2001!!
-
When did this happen and what channel is it on?? I have Comcast and I only see the 1 channel and I haven't seen anything in HD.
-
I long for the days when the games were 7-5, 8-4, etc. I remember a Wings game in '87 where they beat the Blackhawks 12-0. Don't get me wrong, when there is wide open play and the goalies are playing out of this world, those are great games too!
-
Just like when Franzen was hit in the head, if his head wasn't sideways................ It looked clean to me!!
-
It was a clean hit. I saw a few posts about the hit on Franzen and don't forget the attempted head hunting last night.
-
Thought I saw some NHL refs officiating the Lions game yesterday!!
-
Rick Zombo also wore #4!
-
I have an idea!! How about the goalie being able to touch the puck outside the trapezoid, BUT he is fair game!!
