I think it is funny that the Wings are now just 6 points behind the 'Hawks and have a legitimate shot at the division title. Not too long ago they were about 20 points behind them!

Last I checked, Buffalo was SIXTH best in the east but would get the 3rd seed. I don't like "giving" the division winners the top 3 seeds. Give them automatic spots in the playoffs and rank them according to points.

Nope, any combination of 3 Wings wins or Flames losses would guarantee a tie with the Flames. As far as tiebreakers are concerned, not sure after head to head record.

But the difference between the Wings and Devils is that the Wings were getting 111, 115 and 112 points while the Devils were getting 100, 101, 104. Take out the 3rd point in OT games, the Wings still hit 100+ while the Devils fall short!

But if Colorado can beat the Kings, the Wings will be 2 points away from being tied for 5th in conference. Yeah, I know about the tiebreakers, but 2 points separating 4 teams with less than 10 games left should make for an interesting 2-3 weeks!

The Wings are 10-3-4 (or is it 10-4-3) against the top 4 teams in the west!

Columbus is a mere "few miles" further east than Detroit!! I think it is like 11 miles or so!

I have been saying get rid of the conference affiliations and seed the teams 1-16 for the last few years. If the Wings were in the east, they would be either the 4th or 5th seed. I think they can get the 6th seed if they play like they have the last 10 games.

I STILL do not understand the goal Orr scored being such a great one. He shot the puck before being upended. Didn't Z score a goal being upended with his back to the goal? That one is better than Orr's "flying" goal!! Does anyone remember Yzerman's goal against the Pens in '89? He had a breakaway and was tripped and while in the air, scored an awesome goal. The game was on ESPN as I was stationed in Albany, GA and pretty much the only game that showed the Wings on national TV that year.

I think they can grab the 6th spot playing the way they have since the break! They are only 4 (or 5) points out!

I HATE the intent to blow "rule" since it is total bulls***..... We have all seen a goal disallowed because Homer was interferring with the goalie 2 feet outside the crease..... Is there a stat ANYWHERE that shows the number of disallowed goals the last 5 years?

The last 2 games they did not play anywhere near how they played in game 5. Give PIT credit for their gameplan but how could they NOT call the interference when Ozzie was sent into the goal when just the other day Z got called and he was puched into MAF? If we had scored a PP goal it is a WHOLE different game!

Why go thru the trouble? Just hook up the cable or satellite feed to the jumbotron.
