This has been asked quite a few times and there were 1 or 2 occurances where 5 teams from a division made the playoffs. That was when there were 7 team divisions before the current alignment of 5 teams divisions. Also, back in the 80s the teams that made the playoffs were the top 4 in each division. So it was impossible for the 80-81 season to have 5 teams from 1 division.

Someone else mentioned this, if a BJ's player shot the puck over the glass and a penalty was called in the same situation, would it be controversial? Controversial is when the puck hits the net and the players stop playing because they know it did and the opposition scores. Has happened 3 times the last 2 years.

And the Wings didn't deal with horrible hockey? They now get more wins than they were getting points in the 70s and 80s. We were dealing with horrible hockey long before Anaheim were in any mention of getting a team.

Did anyone notice Ericsson duck when a someone threw a bottle at the end while they were giving Ozzie congrats? Isn't Cleveland where the NFL game was halted with about a minute left when the fans were throwing bottles on the field? Classless fans!!

This is the 1st series VAN won since '94 that did NOT go 7 games. I read that the other day and was amazed that it has been 15 years.

If they were blowing the Wings for everything during the 1st period, how many times was Homer hit with a stick or knocked down? Near the end of the game when Helm got the holding penalty, why didn't Nash get called for holding the stick? He was knocked to the ice and he held the stick of the Wing who hit him (don't recall the player). Who cares though!! We won and all the question marks for the team did not disappoint in game #1!!

If they cheat why do teams wait until the playoffs to say something? Well if we cheat it is because we have to make up for the different rules for Homer. How many times does he get, whacked, slashed, tripped and interferred with each game?

What they SHOULD do is make it a rematch of the previous finals with the winner the home team!!

Oh, and he WILL be in the HOF with no questions asked. If he had played in as many games as Brodeur plays in a season, he would have nearly 450 wins under his belt. In his 15 or so year career, that comes out to ONLY 4 more wins a year. Ozzie played as a starter, not more than 50-55 games a year. Brodeur ROUTINELY hits 70 every year (or damn near it). Remember, Ozzie has been a backup for a third (if not more) of his career. Ozzie WILL have his number retired and be in the HHOF for his career marks!!

He will pass them both at that rate in 3 seasons!!

He is a slippery little bastard and could not fathom the thought of him playing elsewhere. He reminds me of Barry Sanders......
