[GDT] 10/2 - Blues 4, Red Wings 3 (Stockholm)
Johnny Diamonds replied to The Mule's topic in General
Who is the douchebag doing the color commentary for VS? He's brutal! -
Bert with a nice breakaway goal lol.
-
Howard looks pretty good out there so far.
-
It will be fun keeping an eye on this kid's minor league career. I'm not making any proclamations. But would it really surprise any Wings fans if Tatar and Ferraro end up being the steals of this draft class?
-
I think they're running a circus over there right now. And are putting on a clinic of: How not to run a hockey team in the salary cap era. I'm getting a good laugh watching their hype train build up steam before the season starts and I will be LMAO when the thing derails.
-
That's what I'm saying. I think this team is just as talented as the 08' team. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Hossa was a 1 year luxury and he's gone now bfd. He was a bum in the playoffs anyways. GO WINGS!!!!

The title of this article was "Too early to panic over the Hawks?" Or was that your own opinion of the blackhawks? I'm not worried about the blackhawks. Are you?

Brad May to Play on Friday (and Friday's Line Up)
Johnny Diamonds replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
This would be a decent move. We got rid of Sammy and Huds. And bring Big Bert and possibly May into the fold. -
IIHF refuses to grant transfer card to Jiri Hudler
Johnny Diamonds replied to PRStoetzer's topic in General
I believe he can still play for his KHL team without the transfer card. But doesn't this mean he isn't eligible to play for his country in international tournaments like the olympics? -
A deeper look inside the mind of Hudler

Hossa is an improvement over Havlat no doubt so that should make the Hawks slightly better offensively. But it seems there is a book written on how to stop the guy in the playoffs, force him wide keep him on the boards and he meltsdown. He really needs to play harder and be willing to take more punishment drving to the net to score goals where goals are scored in the playoffs. If he doesn't take it upon himself to do so then expect more of the same from him.
-
If the Blackhawks had signed Daniel Sedin or Marian Gaborik instead of Marian Hossa you wouldn't see as many threads discussing the Blackhawks. But the fact is the Hawks signed a player a former player of ours many on here wanted to keep and many didn't. He's a former Wing that has been talked about quite a bit on this board. Not to mention our team is doing nothing and really can't do anything this offseason so there isn't much to talk about concerning the Wings right now. If you feel flattered by this then fine. But do take it for what it's worth.
-
It would be hard to find a free agent for around the same cap number that could put up Hudler's offensive numbers. But if you signed a player or players who could help kill penalties on a team who had the worst penalty killing percentage you might not need to score 5 goals a game to win. Just saying,
-
He said Chicago is hungry and in the same f'ing sentence says "Detroit is a team with alot of history" He is toally implying that Detroit is suffering from fat cat syndrome and that Chicago is a young junkyard cat looking to make it big.
-
Having Ericsson up for a full season is slightly different. As far as goaltending goes there is a bit of a drop off from Conklin to Howard but that is the backup. Our #1 is still our #1.
-
Yeah the Conk blocker was the shiz, it's a shame he got crunched out. He and Mason will be a damn good duo with the Blues this season. It's gonna be tough to get points from the Blues every game.
-
There was only one team heading into the playoffs who had a worse GAA than the Wings and guess who that was? The Flames! Now adding Bouwmeester helps quite a bit but it is still a poor defensive unit. The Wings had a Cup hangover as an excuse and Babcock even admitted that they never turned the physical play up to full speed during the regular season. But what was the Flames excuse last season?
-
Exactly! Wasn't he the one who was supposed to have all the hunger? Yet he played in the playoffs like it was just any other game. See he wants a team to win a cup for him because he knows he cannot hack it in the playoffs. Maybe if he had more hunger he would've drove to the net hard instead of doing pirouettes along the boards and firing weak 35ft. wrist shots at the goalies and defensemen.
-
It's a shame Hudler is small, passive and slow otherwise he'd be a great two-way player.
-
Does anybody think Hulder is gonna get any better than he is now? And by better I mean faster, tougher and more responsible defensively? I don't think he can. I think he is what he is: A small skilled guy lacking top end speed. I would rather see Kenny add some grit and toughness to this team. Someone who can help kill penalties!
-
I think I am right here, There is more to this than just the money. But now it's not only by their actions that they are saying the Wings are past it. It's also by their words as Hossa implies that the Wings are not hungry enough for him. Hossa quote:
-
I'm not pissed that he left. I expected that. But he went to a division rival now he's the enemy so he can break his ******* legs out there for all I care.
-
-
LaRose could also give a bit of a hometown discount as well.
-
So instead of a sweep the series could go 5 games?
