Hockey fans are not gonna watch regular season baseball over the SCF.

aye aye General fudge packer.

I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying, I need to clarify this. I'm white and I follow all of the four major sports. But I find most minorites I know which is quite a bit and in a hockey market could give a s*** about hockey. They do however love the NBA and love NBA superstars. Now when you get outside of a hockey market not only are the minorites even more disinterested in hockey, the whites in those markets are disinterested in hockey as well. So what is the demographic Bettman is trying to attract? The minorities in hockey markets! Because see he already has the white demographic in the hockey markets. The point is is he will not be able to capture the minority demographic ecen in the hockey markets. So he is wasting his time trying to cater to them when they have no interest to begin with!
-
Just playing the card you dealt. People who love hockey will watch the SCF no matter when they start. If Bettman thinks starting the SCF a week earlier to avoid the NBA finals and capture it's minority viewership he's fooling himself.

I patrol the Detroit river and St. Clair river sawing off Vietmanese,Fillipino and Pakistani immigrants.
-
So if the SCF starts on this weekend instead of next weekend all the minorities will watch hockey? NO!
-
How about Bettman starting the SCF 6 days earlier than planned and doing a back to back night game 1 and game 2 thus taking away any home ice advantage. Not to mention all the Wings banged up players not being able to get a few extra days rest. Consider the SCF in the tank!

Two back to back 7 game series has taken it's toll on a one line team.

GO WINGS! Hossa with a haty tonight. -
This is why Chelios is still on this team, I'm glad to have him in a pinch when someone goes down. He still plays hard and is about as smart as any player on the team.
-
It worked last year. Might as well do it again ladies.

I would be alright with losing Hossa if it meant we can land a top Goalie. I'm f'n sick of this situation lately. The last time the Wings GAA was this bad Brian Murray was on his way out the door. I can't stand seeing this team get lit up while every day I glance at 2-1 and 3-2 scores around the league. Everyone else seems to be playing playoff hockey right now except the Wings.

Zero heart, zero toughness. I don't remember one good hit out there tonight by the Wings. Why should any of the defensemen hit anyone out there anyways? They're just following the example set by their Captain. Sad

Canton Michigan's finest, The Wiz UFA in the offseason, sign him up Kenny -
though I'd like to see more of this.

He was sent down because Homer is back. What are they gonna do cut someone from the current roster to keep Downey up?

Forget the deadline, the OFF SEASON is where its at?

Is the NHL cap similar to the NBA cap where you can exceed the cap to re-sign your own players, but you have to pay luxury taxes? -
That same company had a commerical with some NFL football players in one before. It was kinda funny as well. Clinton Portis was in it.
-
I like Downey alot. He's tough and he has a great attitude. It seems the rest of the team likes having him around as well. It's a shame he doesn't have a bit more skill to go along with his mental and physical toughness. It's great to have an enforcer on your team at all times. Though idealy the type of enforcer I'd like to see the Wings have is in the mold of a McCarty,Probert, Kocur. Guys who can kick ass and play hockey with some skill. Nashville right now has the best of both worlds they got two enforcers who would never be taken out of the lineup whether in the playoffs or not. Because both FooFoo and Weber bring something else to the table besides droping gloves. I would love to see Holland get us a player in the future with all those attributes.

I was very impressed with him, he moves like the wind. He's fun to watch out there. I still can't get over the void left when Fischer had to call it quits. But I think Ericsson can help fill that void.
