Well no deal like this is gonna happen. It was just an idea of mine I had to share. As others have said Holland doesn't make blockbuster deals. The Wings will have a great team next year, whether they make any changes or or not. The only concern I have is, will they have the hunger to win it all again? It usually helps to bring in some fresh veteran blood to keep the hunger going. I'm sure Holland will add a gritty player to replace Drake either this summer or at the deadline.

Yeah, they can't keep both those guys anyways. Kopecky,Hudler, Meech or Quincy and a 1st. I think that's a solid trade.
-
That's BS, if this same deal was on the table at the deadline, alot of you would be saying "OMG that's too much Kenny"!
-
A 3rd-line player who scored 14 points in the playoffs and the 1st round pick are not s*** value.
-
Hmm What exactly did the Bruins get in that Thorton deal again?
-
He'd be like a two year rent-a-player. They have the cap room to sign both Z and Mule. Besided they will have to re-sign Hudler next year anyways. If they tried to sign Sundin this year it's atleast gonna cost them 4 mil. You subtract Hudler and Kopecky's salary and it would be the same thing as singing Sundin and still keeping Hudler and Kopecky. I also think you are underrating Hudler's value in this proposal. He had more goals in his first 2 NHL season's than Jokinen did around the same age as well. Not to mention he had 14 points in the playoffs this year.

This mock draft http://nhldraftsite.com/ has LW Nicolas Deschamps falling to the Wings. I don't know who runs that site, but he seem to update it often. Ok there is some site info at the bottom of the page: NHLDraftsite provides a mock draft based on worldly player rankings and NHL standings that updates every week by a team of experts after the completion of the weekly NHL games and other games across the globe. A few members including myself have been very interested at the prospect of Brian Rolston being an Unrestricted free agent. Not to mention the Red Wings having the cap space to aquire him this off-season if they wished to do so. But after reading this article off TSN. I don't think Rolston will be available when the free agency period starts. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=240619&...s=headlines_nhl

Question: Will the Wings sign a big name free agent?
Johnny Diamonds replied to hckypete96's topic in General
Hell yeah! Rolston would be a perfect fit to replace Drake. Though Rolston has had a nice scoring touch the last couple seasons. Not to mention a Flint boy, maybe they could get a bit of a home town discount like Rafalski last season. I also wouldn't mind Avery coming back to the Wings. -
Something I was thinking about yesterday. What would it take to trade up to the third pick with Atlanta? They need defense badly and we seem to have a surplus of quality young defensemen.
-
They don't have a 2nd rd pick so I think they will take BPA at 30. Here's a complete mock draft I found yesterday http://nhldraftsite.com/ They have us taking RW James Livingston with the 30th pick.

He has every right to celebrate and get wasted for this one. His underpaid hardest working team just won the toughest trophy in all of sports. And his other overpaid and lazy team that he dished out 140mil for this season has taken a big dump on him and this city. Let the man enjoy this moment.

He's the Russian version of Schneider.

I checked the score twice first time I checked it was 3-0 and the second time I checked it was 5-0. I'm not that interested in watching it. Besides there's a game seven on right now.

Sean Beligian and Stoney were saying on the post game show that the league does not let players come back before 2 weeks are up when they have concussions.

This is F'd. I swear they are giving these athletes supplements that are causing this sh*t. All these young athletes having heart attacks and other strange medical problems. I really believe these trainers are at fault for alot of this stuff. GET WELL FRANZENSTEIN!

Here's an interesting take on Ville Leino off this blog. A couple weeks ago, at the height of the Fabian Brunnstrom madness, I was chatting a bit with Risto Pakarinen, a Finnish hockey writer based out of Stockholm. What I really wanted was a sense of what those who had seen Brunnstrom play thought of him, and where they pegged him as a potential NHL player. Pakarinen was relatively muted in his praise of the young Swede, but he was keen on another player. Good Finn that he is, Pakarinen wanted to let me know about a countryman named Ville Leino. "Brunnstrom is not the hottest player around here," he said. "This guy is."
