Not sure what the haters were expecting out of this guy this season? IMO, he's done a decent job in his role. Would I like to see him score a bit more? Sure! Hell I'd like to see see Leino-Abs-Helm-DATSYUK score some more goals as well. The entire team has been in a funk and hopefully we see guys like Bert have more nights like he did last night. Atleast once every 4 or 5 games. This team plays hard pretty much every game. Losing is not in their DNA and that's why they are only 6 points behind the division leader despite all the injuries and adversity they've faced this season. I believe this team is only going to get stronger as the season goes on. The goals and bounces will start coming going the Wings way and last night might have been a perfect example of that. GO WINGS!

Bert has been in a bad luck slump. He hits posts and gets some good shots in. But the pucks just aint going in. If he keeps at it though, the bounces will start going his way and he'll have a scoring breakout.

Towes out day to day with an "upper body injury". I think we all know what that injury really is.

I doubt they'll make any big moves. The only thing I see them doing is bringing up Abdelkader. If the injury is worse than diagnosed they may trade for someone at the deadline.

I guess I should've asked you what you meant when you said "done". Did you mean, done as in he is no longer the NHL star caliber player he used to be? Or did you mean he is completely finished and no longer even an NHL caliber player at all? IMO, I still think he is at least an average NHL player.

Maybe Babs puts Z back on the line with Dats and moves FIlppula up to 2nd line, Helm 3rd line C and Abdelkader 4th line C. But this is a huuuuuuge blow. I think we can forget about winning the division though. Just compete all season for a playoff spot and hope Franzen is back in March fully healthy and ready to roll com playoff time. This really sucks though!
