I think datsyuk not worth more than $5 mil. If you look at Marc Savard, he has put up pretty good numbers since he was traded to atlanta a few yrs ago. He signed with boston at $5 mil per, and if you look at it, their stats are very identical last few years. IMO, he's a pretty good measuring stick.
-
r u sure? who would you rather have right now, Stumpel or Lang (assuming he continues to play like crap)?
-
IF thats true, getting a mayers, asham or lapointe is not completely necessary.
-
just curious, but can Nolan fight? Bert for a conditional pick sounds good too. Mayers would be filling a need as well.
-
if not guerin, then I guess time to look elsewhere at guys like nolan or zubrus.

From HFBoards: Guerin/Tkachuk: Detroit, Anaheim and one other (missed the name) are interested, Atlanta seriously taking a look at Tkachuk, would be prepared to part with a 1st and a prospect. If they fall short on him, they'd maybe look at Smolinski. Nothing will really happen until the two big St Louis names are dealt, nobody's sure of what to ask for/offer up for the secondary names. Owen Nolan is on the market, Georges Laraque told he's done in Phoenix, shopped, will be traded. Pittsburgh favourites, Buffalo and Toronto mentioned as potential suitors. Rob Blake has reportedly waived his NTC, hopes to end up in SJ, but the Sharks are more interested in Craig Rivet. Staying in LA, Brent Sopel will be moved, Mattias Norstrom may be available for the right price as LA look to completely blow up the team. Calgary may be looking at Bryan Berard, as they attempt to add depth bodies to their D. Also remember they may make more deals with San Jose. Martin Lapointe, Richard Zednik, Dainius Zubrus may also be moved. Todd Bertuzzi is still available, possibly for conditional pick since nobody knows his fitness. Martin Gelinas has a $200k cap hit so anyone who wants him can pretty much afford him. Fredrik Modin likely to stay in Columbus, signing a new deal on Monday. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've coveted Mattias Norstrom for years, who could be available at the right price. Its probably unlikely we'd get him at the deadline, but could try later on.

HNIC: Satellite Hotstove, Trade deadline talk
Mighty Wings replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
Its gonna cost more than schneider and picks/prospects, considering he's an impending FA. They're probably gonna ask for quincey or ericsson, if not kronwall. He's a highly regarded D-man in the league, so he's gonna command good young players/prospects + picks. I get goosebumps about thinking what it'd be like if we actually were even interested in him. But how ironic, would it be if we did get him, as we have a great warrior in chelios for so many years, and norstrom takes over that role, following cheli. -
Holland: Wings won't deal unless prices come down
Mighty Wings replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
^^^^^^Stupid post of the day right there. Its called being passionate, People have their own ideas that may seperate themselves from other ideas, but its only because they want their teams to be successful, and thats what its all about. If you can't take any criticism, I don't know if you should be on here telling people what to do. And if people actually stopped following/buying the product, this site wouldn't exist. As a matter of fact, you have no right to tell others what to do regardless of whether they spend their money or not. Thats not the way it works in this world. -
Zhitnik isn't gonna be a FA this summer is he?
-
WOW A HATRICK FOR HOMER
-
Can't argue with that. Basically it was Freddy Meyer and a 3rd for Coburn.
-
Coburn has gone in the wrong direction, as he has been in and outta the thrashers lineup in his first 2 years.

Holland: Wings won't deal unless prices come down
Mighty Wings replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
Yeah like he was such a force in that game, let alone the whole series. As a matter of fact, I see no evidence of top 6 winger's absence by the oilers. "No lack of grit?" They were often losing battles along the boards, or in the front of the net. Although the 4th line Franzen-Cleary-Maltby was very good, but further grit/toughness needed to be addressed. More like the oilers scored 4 goals, but whatever. ditto The fact that they were the best team in the reg. season, but get eliminated early. How much longer should this be tolerated? Oh we're fine, no need to worry. Anaheim, San Jose, Calgary are terrible and the wings will sweep them. -

I do give him credit when he does something well, such as the Markov signing. I thought the value of his signing was very good. The Hasek signing outta left field was a risky move, but if he could stay healthy that would be a great move as well. But after losing to edm last year, he said he wanted to add toughness/grit, and he still hasn't addressed it yet (he might before the deadline). He still needed to add a top 6 winger after shanny left, and no matter what I'm still gonna say they should've taken care of it in the summer(unless they acquire someone by tuesday). As for the standings, don't bother lookin' at em unless your goal is to win the presidents cup. If that doesn't convince you, this should give you a -
Holland: Wings won't deal unless prices come down
Mighty Wings replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
can't change the past, but I can definitely say that the strategy of putting your problems in the backburner has been a bad one. He needs to learn that slightly overpaying for someone in the summer is the way to go, than giving up high picks/young players at the deadline -

Guerin was bad in dallas, but you can't tell me $2 Mil + incentives wasn't feasible. Dumont or Sykora aren't gonna add toughness, I'll give you that but at least if you'd put them on the 2nd line, it wouldn't be as atrocious as it is today. -

I like the fact that he's very firm right now. But he had a chance at taking care of it 8 months ago. -

And he even had 3 options in guerin, sykora or dumont last summer. -
1270 Sports: Babcock says "players will be dealt"
Mighty Wings replied to The Enforcer's topic in General
They just played the audio, Babcock said "players on selling teams will be moved." So he wasn't referring to any Red Wing players being moved . -
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/flapanthers...e_of_the_p.html I guess those who hated the idea can breathe a sigh of relief.

The prices for rentals are incomprehensible.
Mighty Wings replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
I know. In our case its probably a 1st + Filppula OR 2 1st round picks. -
If he keeps up this pace the rest of the season and finishes with nearly 100 pts, he could enter the discussion as a candidate.

Speaking of the caps, Zubrus may be shopped if Mcphee can't re-sign him. http://www.dcist.com/archives/2007/02/22/caps_report_ana.php He has been a very good mentor to ovechkin and semin, and could be kinda difficult for those guys to see zubrus leave. He supposedly wants a 5 year deal worth 3.5 - 4 Million
